It began when a Facebook jokester posted a photo of Academy Award-winning director Steven Spielberg happily posing next to a Triceratops. Here's the caption: "Disgraceful photo of recreational hunter happily posing next to a Triceratops he just slaughtered. Please share so the world can name and shame this despicable man." triceratops This image of Steven Spielberg following what appears to be a triceratops poaching has gone viral.(Photo: Jay Branscomb, Facebook) As of approximately 1:56 p.m. on Friday, this post had been shared 34,494 times and received 11,206 likes. The real joy in this social media success lies in the comments, where some people were genuinely offended that Spielberg would dare kill a peaceful creature such as the Triceratops (note: these gentle giants went extinct 66 million years ago. Also of note: Spielberg directed "Jurassic Park"). "Steven Spielberg, I'm disappointed in you. I'm not watching any of your movies again ANIMAL KILLER," one commenter wrote. "Disgraceful. No wonder dinosaurs became extinct. Sickos like this kill every last one of them as soon as they are discovered. He should be in prison," another said. Another commenter went as far as to threaten national treasure Steven Spielberg's life: "He should be killed instead. Beautiful creature innocently living millions of years ago then this monster comes along," the commenter said. The photo also lead to some heated exchanges: "That's Steven Spielberg, director of Jurassic Park!" one person wrote. "I don't care who he is, he should not have shot that animal!" a defender all of animals (even extinct ones) wrote back. This outrage led to a second Facebook post: this one, condemning Spielberg for brutally murdering a giant shark (note: Spielberg is the man responsible for "Jaws"). WARNING! Assholes in mirror may be dumber than they appear.
I honestly can't tell if those posts are meant to be satire.
The man possibly best known for serving as the executive producer of "Men in Black 3"
:tinfoil:
Criminal scum
Lots of stuff coming up about people killing things because of the resurgence of that Kendall Jones girls African safari. Rosie O'Donnell was back in the spotlight for that Great Hammerhead she posed with. I guess satire posts and idiots falling for it is just a sude effect of this. Pretty golden.
:tinfoil:
Yeah, what the fuck?
I think 99% of them are parodying this http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/07/11/axelle-despiegelaere-loreal-world-cup_n_5577743.html

Huh, I thought it was a realistic scale model, and not just a fabrication created in Photoshop. You'd need hella good drawing skills to just create that in Photoshop though.
:tinfoil:
i saw that and went "what" for a second but realized it's pretty obviously a joke
Those are photoshops? I thought they were legit. Hell if I was Spielberg I'd totally pose with my fictional animals in my movies.
Huh, I thought it was a realistic scale model, and not just a fabrication created in Photoshop. But the point is, the obvious response is "that is clearly a photoshop" instead of "ANIMAL KILLER!@!"
I'd go a step further and have trophy mounts of dinosaurs and Jaws made for my lounge and as gifts.
what the hell are you guys talking about, when did this become a photoshop discussion, and what are you even saying is photoshopped
Reminds of this ET: He touched the hearts of our children... Or was that the other guy?
read the final line of the quote. It says "These two images led the wise people of the Internet to say what should have been said all along: that these images are obviously Photoshopped." this got people saying it looks like a model and that the image is real and that Steven was posing in front of the model of the triceratops in the movie. It's obviously not a model, at least, the triceratops is not there in that image. The 'tops was photoshopped in. If you can't see it right around Steven's leg and around the grass near the 'tops, I can't help you because that right there is the dead give-away. My point in saying that is not only are people mad about what couldn't even be poaching to begin with, they're mad about a photo THAT NEVER WAS REAL.
it doesn't look photoshopped at all though??
Y'all are forgetting the fact that the Triceratops was indeed a life-sized animatronic prop in the movie. And I could have sworn I've seen that photo before in a "behind-the-scenes" featurette.
Here's another gem. And I'll argue it ain't photoshop.
Yeah, like I've been using Photoshop for a good...10 years or more now and I instantly assumed it was a prop animal made for the film. Not only that but I also recognized, or assumed anyway, that the photo was also very old since it looked like it was taken behind the scenes/on set, as the photo Kardia posted.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA [editline]12th July 2014[/editline] HAHAHAHAHAHAHHaA
This makes me hate social media.
I heard somewhere that the Triceratops next to Steven Spielberg was a prop robot used in Jurassic Park. It seems plausible enough and that's why I think it isnt' a photoshop.
These are obviously photoshops. Look at where the grass meets the triceratops and the lighting of where Steven's leg meets the 'tops. It's obviously fake. It's not a model, so these people complaining about it are even more stupid than just really stupid.
Why are you so convinced it's a photoshop? Spielberg was the director of Jurassic Park, the film that this prop appears in. He could have easily had someone snap a photo of him next to the prop during filming. This is the scene in question. I can dig through the special features and try to find that picture of Spielberg and the trike if you still aren't convinced.
I am very sure the whole Jurassic Park movie wasn't done in photoshop either.

It's clearly a real picture of Spielburg and the triceratops prop/animatronic. I just want to know if that was taken for Jurassic Park or Jurassic World.
Photshop my ass, that's a 100% real animatronic.
