My dad retired a couple months ago from the Air Force, but still works as a citizen at an Air Force base. On base, the only housing is apartments, so we live off the base. Most of my family's life while my dad was in the Military was overseas. We moved to the states two months ago. This is my first time living in the states besides when I was born (I lived here for 5 months not including now). We're not used to paying tax and we're not the richest so we shop at the big commissary on base which is tax free. Over 50% of on base housing consists of senior citizens, and we shop during the day on weekdays while the Air Force men and women are at work. My Mom and I enter the commissary today and literally everyone besides me, my mom and most of the staff are over 50 years old. As we're shopping, my mom asks me to grab some milk. As I am walking towards the dairy section I see an old man around the age of 70, I would say. His wife or some old elderly women left him to go get something else and he's just standing there waiting. We were the only person at/around the dairy section; it was quiet at that area, basically. I walk past him totally nonchalant and he stares at me for a while. I open the glass door and grab a 1/2 gallon of 1% milk. When I close the door, I notice he's still staring at me; I store back back for a second. He proceeds to open his mouth somewhat slowly, and then he yells very loudly, "What!?" As if I said something. I almost burst out laughing, but I contained it. I say to him, "Sir, I didn't say anything." Then I start to walk back. About 3 steps away from him, he yells once more. "What!?" I turn around and he's definitely saying that to me. I walk away, turn the corner then burst out laughing. My mom is staring at me with a 'Da Fuck?' face.
True story.
TL;DR - Old man thinks I said something to him and yells "What!?" to me twice.
I'm sorry, what is this thread about again?

Although there's plenty of detail in your post it's honestly not a very good topic for a thread, considering he was probably saying "What?!" because you were staring at him and he probably said it loud cause he may have been in combat (since he's on the base) and may have hearing damage (or he's just plain old).
What base are you at by the way? I assume you're at Little Rock from your profiles.
What?!
I don't understand.
I was thinking this was gonna be a complaining thread or an awesome thread. Guess my instincts were off.
So basically you laughed at an old man because he asked you, "What?!"
Wow. I guess post quality really isn't a big deal these days.
I don't get what the point of this thread is.
What?!
TL;DR Old man thinks OP said something, OP laughs. Great story.

It's quite amazing.

Facepunch doesn't have a place to post random stuff like this. When I used to use Grasscity, they had a "Real Life Stories" section where people posted things that happened to them in real life like this post.

There is a reason why there isn't a real life stories section, because most of the stories are boring to everyone except the OP.
