Migrants in Macedonia don't accept help because there is a red cross on it.

I remember learning about this in school, because of the crusades they dont like crosses. Which is why they have the Red Crescent instead of Cross

If everyone was like that, a whole lot of people would be pissed at them on account of Alexander being macedonian.

I think Alexander is actually mentioned in the Quran as an evil tyrant (which he kinda was, lets be real) correct me if I'm wrong.
Are they really cheering about not accepting aid?
The cross in this context is hardly even religious.
(Thought this was the videoboard, oops)
their problem

Well he did massacre and enslave entire cities, purge people he thought might threaten his power and lead his army into India after they protested him.

I think it would be akin to a western country recieving foreign aid that just happens to come in swastika marked packages. It doesn't mean the same thing there as it does here, but I could see westerners turning down aid because it's got a certain hated symbol on it.

And the Red Crystal in other situations to replace the controversial Red Star of David used by Israel.
Though to be honest knowledge of the significance of the Red Cross should be widespread enough for these refugees to recognize the intentions and nature of the organization aiding them.

So why the hell do they decide to come to Europe then if they get offended by signs of Christianity? We got a lot of churches and Christian-based traditions here, how do they think they will ever integrate in Europe's culture if they cannot accept or live alongside anything that remotely looks like Christianity?

Because there aren't organized armies actively hunting them down in Europe?
There will become ones, if they will act like this.

Why don't they go to Saudi Arabia or something like that?

They could have gone to the Western side of Turkey. Or Azerbaijan. Or like that other guy said, Saudi Arabia. Surely they will have necessary aid that doesn't offend them. And all those three countries seem to be closer to get to than Macedonia.

Or maybe we could just take the crosses off the boxes for a few people, like this really isn't that big of a deal.
Religion is dangerous without education, that is the problem.
They are showing hate against Christians (I'm not even talking about Atheists...). I don't even think that you can change their minds... People like that may lead only to conflicts.

Or maybe they can just accept the help we offer instead of turning it down because the Red Cross instead of the Red Crescent is on it.
Did those people never got the hint that the Red Cross and Red Crescent are ran by basically the same organisation?
When you have stories like this and that story of migrants protesting over being fed Italian food in Italy it eventually all adds up towards a negative image.

You probably shouldn't be in the west if stuff that can be interpreted as christian symbolism offends you. Its not like they're being fed pork and alchohol.
Stil, I agree, best solution to the problem.
Hell of a cultural learning point for the soldiers. Doubt that the unit had any encounters or experience in dealing with migrants.
Beggars cannot be choosers. If they don't like it, they can screw off back to whatever hole they came from before.
Seriously, a country is offering you safety and food, and you are worried about semantics. This would be onpar to a vegetarian bitching during the apocalypse. It's nonsensical.

I see where you're coming from but could you phrase this in a way that doesn't make you sound like a complete hick?

Pride is very nonsensical.

It may sound harsh, but it is rather true.
I would wonder too what kind of war refugee would turn down help from a country they are in purely because they don't like the emblem on said aid packets.
outrageous, but thats the balkans for you.
religion and pride has taken over the minds of many people there, so half the time it can't be helped that they're ignorant
its sad, because so many of these countries that broke away from Yugoslavia need aid.
Some say if the cross touches you, you become gay!
Coming to a country near you soon

Wtf are you talking about ?

If making harsh points makes someone a hick, I'd rather be a hick.

Hahaha holy shit are you really associating a cross as a hate symbol?

I agree. I remember watching on the news about some migrants (can't really say from where to where they went, as I don't remember that well), who were bitching about "bad living conditions" while having everything they need there as well as being mad about not feeling accepted in the country. Safe to say - they brought it upon themselves.
As for these migrants, they really should get back from where they came from. Beggars can't be choosers, well said.
It's ok for people to come to Europe, only if they do not cause more problems.
But, being religious freak and choosing religion over democracy seriously raises red flags.
