Whitney Houston Cause of Death Announced: Accidental Drowning, had Cocaine in System

The toxicology report is in.The Los Angeles County coroner's office has determined that Whitney Houston's official cause of death is: "drowning and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use."
The singer was found in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton Hotel room on Feb. 11, hours before a pre-Grammy party. She was 48.
The coroner's office also said the manner of death was an "accident."
However, the toxicology report adds that "Cocaine and metabolites were identified and were contributory to the death. Marijuana, Alprazolam (Xanax), Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) were identified but did not contribute to the death."
An autopsy was conducted the day after she died. Capt. John Kades of the Los Angeles County coroner's office said at the time there was no indications of foul play and no obvious signs of trauma on Houston's body. Prescription pill bottles were found in her room, but the number of pills were "not in alarming amounts," said officials.
Dionne Warwick said earlier this month she suspected her cousin died of a "heart attack."

I don't know who this is, but I know some people were sad that she died, so I figured I'd post this.
They never learn, do they?
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
i thought she died of an overdose, so this is surprising.

She ODd, passed out, drowned as she sunk.
The water just finished her off, but if it wasn't for the drugs, she wouldn't drown.
Hardly a surprise.
This is exactly why I always take showers.
Baths are for the reckless.

When you're addicted to shit like that it's obviously not easy. Especially, since she has the money to get it whenever she pleases.
You see kids! This is why you don't buy giant fucking bathtubs.
give that bathtub the death penalty and charge the water as an accessory.
I believe you don't you pass out from cocaine overdose, you're more likely to pass out and drown off of xanax or flexeril.
The coke probably contributed to heart attack/failure or whatever happens when you have heart disease and the blow is putting an unhealthy load on it.

My experience with people who do these kinds of drugs is the cocaine is the main kick, but it makes you edgy to say the least. So they do those other drugs to take the edge off, so they can do more coke. The thing is with addicts they need to do more and more to get the same effect, so one day they wind up taking enough to not only take the edge off but it knocks them out. Not a problem if you're kicking back in your favorite recliner, but if you happen to be in water...

Should be the other way around man. Water killed her, The Bath Tub enabled the water!
Where does it say she had drugs in her system at the time of drowning? From the sound of it, her drug use just caught up with her and she had a heart attack and drowned.

I heard the audio of the coroner giving his statement to the press earlier on the radio. He said she did cocaine right before her bath and passed out and drowned. He also said there were other drugs in her system but they didn't cause her death.

So she drowned in cocaine.

Only Charlie Sheen can consume that much cocaine and survive
