I'm not even surprised if 2017 turns out to be as bad in terms of deaths.

We should make a bingo board for 2017 then

Stephen Hawking
Queen Elizabeth
Buzz Aldrin
Larry David
Prince Charles
Not toxxing but I'm sure one of those will die next year.

I mean it's not like more and more significant people died in 2016, people just care a lot more now, so it gets more news coverage.
It's still a huge shame, of course.

I hope it's Charles before Liz - for lineage purposes.

I disagree about Larry David, he has a strict diet, takes care of himself and has enough money that his life is essentially stress free.
He will never die [sp] I hope [/sp]

I dunno if that's true. People have always cared, at least passingly, when a celebrity dies, and they've always been given news coverage.

Put Mugabe down on that as well, he's 92 right now
ofcourse there's going to be more deaths next year, the population is always growing
Oh man, I just remembered he was in Heat.
R.I.P
Stan Lee is up there too, I sadly wouldn't be surprised
Oh shit, he was DJ Johnny 'The Love Giant' Parkinson in San Andreas.
Damn, why the fuck is 2016 not over yet with all these unexpected deaths...
famous people die every year, 2017 wont be an exception

He needs to pre-record hundreds of cameo scenarios on greenscreen in the highest possible resolution and framerate so he can continue to be in every Marvel movie for at least the next decade
I still don't understand what makes 2016 worse then any other year in terms of deaths.

Much more of them are being reported, tends to happen with trending topics. Celebrity deaths have become an easy way to get clicks and fill the word count for this year, along with the high number of what many consider negative events transpiring around the globe.
When people say fuck 2016 they aren't just talking about the deaths of childhood icons. It really has been a visibly (emphasis on visibly) bad year all around, not even counting the personal crises that you won't hear about on the news.

This is exactly right, there are a bunch of things both public and private that have happened in my life this last year that I can easily say that this has been the worst year I can remember, all around.

I don't know 2001 was pretty bad.

The only thing that will be more annoying than the "lol 2016 is so bad am i rite guys" jokes will be the inevitable "wow lol 2017 is way worse than 2016" jokes.

As long as the notorious rbg lives another 4 years that would be fine
I have a theory that all these deaths this year are the direct result of substance abuse in the 80s catching up to us.
Isn't it kind of unhealthy to live year to year like that?
Use the year as a means of telling the date and understand that there isno huge change when a number changes on the calender.

Then again I'm probably just being a cynical fucker.
It's sad when anyone dies, regardless of the date. That's the whole point.
Man here I am at 27 and all these deaths make me feel like I'm going to be next or something.
How depressing.

Somewhere in this forum, there are users that were alive a few weeks ago and dead now.
It's probably impossible to determine who, but that's life.

There was a BBC article on this earlier in the year, and basically more celebrities are dying but mainly because a lot of them are now reaching ages where death rates increase dramatically.
