HEY let's talk about the [URL="http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1409423"]What Turns You On[/URL] thread. We get a lot of complaints about it so we decided to just let all of [B]YOU[/B] decide if it should stay or not.
This vote will be to decide if we should ban that thread as well as any similar threads for weird and disgusting porn posting.
This is about threads like the one linked above, this is not a vote to ban all porn threads. That's a totally different matter, but no one is going to stop you from sharing your views about it here. You are by majority adults that can handle some normal porn topics on Fast Threads.
About Avatars: Lewd drawn/anime avatars are never going to be banned, get over it. - Of course NSFW/Real Nudity/showing of genitalia both real or drawn get banned. Commonsense.
[B]REASONS FOR LOCKING AND BANNING:[/B]
-It's a thread that's just become a one-upmanship of people trying to post the most disgusting shit they can find on the net. We don't want a thread on the forum filled with underaged anime bestiality, people can go to other fucked up sites for that.
-It gives new people a shitty impression of the forum when they see threads filled with cartoon dog fart porn.
-It will piss off Dai who is repulsive and one of the top posters in it

-"It's Not Illegal, Who Cares"
-People want the freedom to have anything and everything on the forum. It's convenient. Don't want to be like other forums that don't allow any of this weird perverted shit on them.
[B]MOD REASONS:[/B]
-Threads that cannot self moderate and test the line between Legal and Illegal are a pain. We have entire active subforums that do better! - Basically not worth it.
Try to use an alt account to bump up the votes and you'll be banned on all your accounts!
Any votes from accounts registered today onwards or from accounts that haven't been posting any before today will be disregarded from the final vote!

I (with some help from orkel) voided 52 "NO" votes from bogus accounts. Total voided votes for "NO" is now 53. Another 2 "NO" votes changed to "YES", and 77 "YES" changed to "NO". So total "NO" vote is officially 1,339.
FINAL TOTAL VOTES: 2,345
FINAL YES VOTES: 1,006 (42.8%)

They already have Rust, though. (Don't even go in there, just trust me on this, it's already started.)
I don't think there's anything to be gained from stopping it, and they aren't hurting anyone. (And I don't even go to them)
But regardless, it's a moderator decision and I find that these sort of things should remain moderator decisions, democracy doesn't really have a place in the forum, especially since 90% of the people voting probably never go to the threads in question.
Basically the majority will probably always be for closing the threads because the threads aren't used often by the majority.
Anyhow, it is porn so if it goes I won't shed a tear, honestly they don't [I]really[/I] add anything to the forum, but it's a slippery slope.

Didn't these get banned once? Then had a large request to be brought back? I mean it doesn't really fit the forums all that much but if users don't have the option they'll probably toss more pm's or comments asking for it back.
Could always migrate that sort of stuff to GMF but then that'd instantly just become the first comment you made about reasons for getting rid of them

I thought we came to the agreement that if someone posted illegal shit (underage/"100-year-old witch" porn) they would be banned. I don't see a reason to hold the entire thread resposible for it.

Exactly.
Facepunch is pretty tolerant about a lot of topics and subjects, but illustrated porn and extreme fetishes don't belong here. There are other sites for that particular topic. Feel free to talk about it in the love advice and relationship thread but in a correct manner.
