That sucks, I was hoping they'd extend the pre-orders until the previous release date any ways, since no one could have known it would be released early.
If you're reading this, then you're not contributing to the effort. Go play your games.
naw I have 2 PCs running them, this one has Amnesia going and another has Killing Floor.
I don't own any of these games, and I won't buy them. I want to pre-purchase portal 2 :( hope it survives the weekend...
It would be better if everyone focused on one game to fill that bar.
Do the bars go down again once people stop playing or is playing the games helping to fill the bars?
It would be better if everyone focused on one game to fill that bar.
Why? The total players will still be the same.
Shit, gotta preorder it tomorrow,I've missed the chances to do it early.
really stupid imo
Potatoes are multipliers. The more we have, the faster it goes. Idling also does not help, you have to be playing.
false
Not going to waste my time.
naw I have 2 PCs running them, this one has Amnesia going and another has Killing Floor.
I hope you know it doesnt matter if it's just up. You actually have to be playing them. This whole thing is annoying me. About 20 people on my friends list keep saying "WHY ARENT YOU PLAYING ANY OF THE POTATO SACK GAMES! DONT YOU WANT PORTAL 2 QUICKER?!". I can wait fucking 4 days.
Crowlerzors: i dont really get this Crowlerzors: so what are we just supposed to leave potato sack games open or something Chris: i think so Crowlerzors is now playing Garry's Mod. Click here to join.
Pre-ordered Portal 2 :unsmith: I feel sorry to those missing out.

Always when there is something i've really been waiting for, i'm either broke or at my mother's house. Right now i'm both. :smithicide:
And how do you know?
It says it in this article http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1079072-Glados’-Countdown-Is-Up Quote:
“Remember the Potato Sack? GlaDOS is apparently drawing “power” from computers playing games in the potato sack. For every collective 48 hours for one particular game, that game’s “power bar” goes up by 1%. And Steam needs to record you actually playing the game – just leaving something idling in the background does not contribute.
I'd rather be able to prepurchase it for PS3 so I can play it on PC as well, but now I'm gonna have to buy 2 copies. Thanks Valve.
I honestly don't think we'll end up doing it in time. There's a chance but I doubt it.
goddamnit bank transfer my money!
I don't have ANY of the potato sack games :v:
perfect candidate for the pack then (though I assume you're not interested) most of us already owned several of the games
If you're reading this, then you're not contributing to the effort. Go play your games.
But if you were writing that, you weren't contributing to the effort. Go play your games :v:
I have 5 games running atm, and of course they are in-game and not in menu. W00t! [editline]15th April 2011[/editline] oh and my 36 potato's multiplies that by a lot.
This is actually a pretty good idea, the whole potato sack scheme. Sure it's a good marketing idea and it does work. It also brings a bit of I guess the lore of the game into the community and makes it feel like an exciting event. I don't think a company has done this before since there hasn't really been such a responsive community platform as Steam before. I'll be pre-ordering Portal 2 tomorrow and I cannot fucking wait!
Figures I have no money when the game is about to come out.
Can't help I'm afraid, got a pre-order for my birthday yesterday from an online store for a physical copy
There's no way the potato sack thing can get enough 'CPU power to re-boot GlaDOS' so just wait 3 goddamn days for the original launch date.
