This is actually a pretty good idea, the whole potato sack scheme. Sure it's a good marketing idea and it [i]does[/i] work. It also brings a bit of I guess the lore of the game into the community and makes it feel like an exciting event. I don't think a company has done this before since there hasn't really been such a responsive community platform as Steam before.
I'll be pre-ordering Portal 2 tomorrow and I cannot fucking wait!
