Bioware had to beat much harder competition than Valve did.. valve had to beat.. 2 unknown companies, ubisoft, bethesda, and a flash game creator. Bioware had 5 well known game companies.

Valve had to beat a group which has an 82 million user base, and in a system where you can use an account linked to zynga (facebook) to vote i'd say it's a testament to the quality of their games that they won.
Get your facts right.
Wow, I was sure zynga would win.
I like both developers equally, I don't care who wins so I'm not voting.
I have never played a BioWare game, so Valve all the way.

Then you missed out on a lot of good games.
How did you not play Baldur's Gate?

W-What?
You better not call yourself a PC gamer, or PC anything for that statement.
Jesus Valve vs. Bioware is hard for me. Honestly I'm going to vote Bioware since they got their shit together and have release 2 great games (Dragon Age + Mass Effect 2) lately.
Oh shit, it's so hard to choose.
It's like all of the sudden people forget how great The Orange Box is, and that Valve is constantly pushing the boundaries, while BioWare is just releasing generic games with a very well written story.
Zynga lost?
Valve fans, triumph.
Valve must win

Or that Valve hasn't done anything ground breaking since 2007, really.
I mean Left 4 Dead 1/2 are fun, but you really can't beat the Orange Box.
Then there's Bioware who just release Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2, both amazing games.
Honestly I hope Bioware wins, but I guess that's just me.
Zynga is a company that got all of it's playerbase by constantly nagging at users to spam friends with invites for in-game rewards.
They made flash games that could have been made in 1996. They did not deserve to beat companies that revolutionized gaming.
Not to mention they even offered in-game rewards for voting for them, and constantly notified users to vote for them in each bracket.
Why do twitter votes count for two? who came up with this bullshit?

I agree that you can't out-do the Orange Box. Left 4 Dead 1 was very special, however, as it brought the idea that the game would adapt to your decisions in many ways. Left 4 Dead 2 didn't really bring anything new, though.
Half Life, Portal, and Team Fortress all pioneered into a new frontier of gaming in so many ways.

The lovable chaps over at The Escapist of course!
We're a forum full of half life 2 fans. We gotta vote for Valve, they're our gods.
I thought for sure Zynga was gonna win. Not that I like Zynga, but last time I checked they had quite a lead over Valve for some reason. Great to see that Valve broke through.
Vote Valve so we can get a discount on Steam games again!
Valve all the way.
Why do twitter votes count for two? who came up with this bullshit?
less than 2% of the votes came from twitter, so they thought they'd give them a little boost
I'm pretty sure Bioware makes better games than Valve

That's debatable.
[editline]02:50AM[/editline]
At least Valve may give us something special when they win.
(Episode 3 info? I called it.)
Sale is inevitable, BRB going to bank
KOTOR and ME vs HL2 and Portal
FUCK
I pick vio-warve

This isn't anything valve give a fuck about, why would they release information. All this does is spout rage like at GDC when MW2 got nominated twice out of maybe 30 times, and lost to indie games.
Valve all the way.
Bioware are good, but they haven't made as much as an impact as the valve and the half-life games.
