Hell yeah fuck all ricers

How about first steps of toddlers vs Mustang drivers leaving car shows?
First time I've seen coloured smoke tires outside GTA.
As much as I'd love to spend 20k + on having a tuner car, I'd much rather have a car that just goes A to B without worrying about shit dying repeatedly.

probably because they lifted a lot of it out of old video compilations just to make the 10 minute mark for that new(ish) youtube revenue mark

the whole "ricers vs tuners vs muscle" thing itself is so 2006.
Unpopular opinion: every Asian brand car is a rice burner, no matter how much money you put into it.
The biggest thing I hate is seeing a nice car out here (older model GTRs or EVOs) and then I look down at the wheels and notice the wheels are stanced. It's an extremely popular fad here and I hate it, I'll never understand why owners put unfathomable amounts of money into their cars and then ruin it by stancing their wheels, I bet their entire playlist is Eurobeat too.
There's a difference?
E. For the love of god please tell me that LILILILILILILILILI sound at 4:24 is some old Looney Tunes sound effect thrown into the video and not the car itself.

I wouldn't say no to a bit of a lowering job on suspension... but usually, people go full retard and do stupid shit like this

That's one of my favourite reasonable cars to own, and that fucker gave it a fuckton of negative camber and slammed it to the ground to scrape the gum off of the pavement. I despise shit like that.
Also, this "ricer vs tuner" thing, upon closer inspection, is full of shit.
Apparently, you're a tuner just because you're rich enough to buy an expensive car like a 370z, a GTR or a 911 Turbo and give them enough upgrades to spit flames out the exhaust. For that to happen, you probably need a straight pipe exhaust and a bigger intake, which isn't all that expensive, but still, most of the cases shown, are people who can probably turn their engine bays into something else entirely.
And then, you're a ricer if you have a Honda and either give it a "fart can" or not. Oh and fyi, that Civic hatch that was supposedly a ricer, could probably be at the same level as Civics owned by people seen as professional tuners.
Further I go into the video, the more obvious it is: If you lack the money to give your car the full treatment and/or its a Honda, then you're a ricer. If you're rich and/or don't own a Honda and modify your car, then you're a tuner. (disregarding the fact that truckloads of people with modded "tuner cars" also crash)

Slamming a car is stupid imo. I cant even imagine trying to drive a car that low...
tbh i wanna buy a mint condition GT-R R34 and put the tiniest rims i can find on it and drop it to the ground. just to be irritating.

When I go to car meets with my friends, the organizers want to put me in the back with the other hondas and those guys are all faggots that drive slammed RSXs with type S badges but if you look inside through their extremely tinted windows you can see they're automatics(type S's only exist in 6 speed manual).
At least my civic si is a cheap car. I don't know why people fuck up their nissan GTRs with that bullshit. Why on earth would someone buy one of the best performance cars on the market and possibly the best price-performance car out there and fuck it up to the point where the AWD means nothing and they have to go over speed bumps sideways.

I wish rice would come back and kill stance. it hurts driving an 8th gen civic si and seeing that all the other ones have been ruined by stancefags
I like sleepers more than gluing lumps of plastic onto the car or fucking the camber up.
I thought flames out of an exhaust was an incomplete burn/something bad?
I thought flames out of an exhaust was an incomplete burn/something bad?
Basically it means there's some fuel left over in the exhaust that ignites.
Not really a good thing, in all honesty, but not particularly bad.
the guy doing donuts in the ford gt is pretty cool. It's nice to see someone drive that car that isn't some rich boomer or saudi that bought it as a collectible
This must be what it feels like being a non-English-speaker on an English-speaking forum.
I had to reread this thread three times and slow way the hell down to make sense out of even half the posts here.

This isn't even complicated. Just wait until people start talking about engines and transmissions and referring to them and other parts by codes

I haven't seen the video but for me:
- ricer = poor person (unemployed, on benefits, shit job or mooching off of parents) who has a 90's or early 00's common Asian-built car with a shit bodykit, muffler chopped off and a pod filter intake.
- tuner = someone wealthier who can afford a proper (albeit affordable) sports car, but they often absolutely ruin it by slamming it, replacing the stock wheels with idiotically large wheels on skinny tyres, ridiculous camber, and absurdly loud intake and exhaust mods.

This shit should be used in the military, would work as very effective psychological warfare when you don't know the sound is coming from a rubber chicken.

[editline]6th January 2017[/editline]
after stancing dies the next big fad will be massive positive camber and ultra-high profile tyres.

I really really like the SI tbh, even if I like Lancers a tad more though while ironically driving a Skyline 350GT. Coworker had a beautiful EVO VII that I passed up buying a few months ago when he transferred because I myself will be transferring in a few months and will have to even sell my Skyline due to US Import regulations. A Japanese Manufactured car must be at least 25 years or older in order to be brought in for personal use. Cars in Japan devalue much quicker than vehicles in the US, you can get a GTR or EVO in decent to great condition for a little over 5k so people used to buy used popular imports and resell them outside Japan for the local price and make a fortune.

That's probably why there are so many Japanese imports here. Skyline 350GTs (they sell for around AU$15,000), R33 GTS Skylines and R34 GT Skylines are popular imports. You also see the occasional Toyota Chaser. Not sure if Supras or Silvias were officially sold here, but you see them around too.

Pretty sure a ricer car is any car that has a bunch of shit thrown on it to look like it's high performance without actually increasing the performance in any way. Ex: mufflers that do a shit job of muffling etc.
SI is overpriced imo.
I got my 9th gen Si for just 23k in the U.S., they retain their value pretty well. But for around the same price you could get a Focus ST or a GTi which has better performance
