The Double Donut burger consists of two beef burgers topped with cheese, four bacon rashers and BBQ sauce, sandwiched between two glazed ring-doughnuts. Critics called it irresponsible, dubbing it "a heart attack on a plate". Hungry Horse said it was catering for a variety of tastes. ... Advertised with the tag line "So Wrong It's Right", the Double Donut burger contains 53g of saturated fat, well above the 20g daily allowance for women and 30g allowance for men. The amount of salt in it - 8.2g - is also more than the recommended daily amount for adults (6g).
If you eat this, you won't even have to count calories anymore. Just eat one of these and you're done for the day.
Taking the phrase "heart attack on a bun" literally.
Critics called it irresponsible, dubbing it "a heart attack on a plate".
I still think it's the consumers' responsibility to not be disgusting pigs, not fast food chains' to tell consumers what is and isn't responsible to eat.
It looks like it would be fucking delicious
That looks kinda gross. I mean, nothing against pile of greasy fried meat with cheese, but putting that between glazed donuts? Sweet bread like brioche, sure, but fried and glazed donut is just ridiculous.
As unhealthy as this thing is, it sure as hell looks delicious. I wouldn't mind trying it out at least once.
The fact it's from a restaurant called "Hungry Horse" makes me imagine that their beef was probably bought in Tesco

Then again I've never really had a sweet tooth, and I've been wrong before (Hawaiian pizza sounded disgusting until I had it and it was the best thing ever.)
Eating that would make you feel so nasty. The glaze and the grease would get all over your hands, and it's so tall, there's no part you can eat in a single bite, so you're going to get stuff on your face.
Hungry horse is great, fucking love their giant burritos.
The fact it's from a restaurant called "Hungry Horse" makes me imagine that their beef was probably bought in Tesco
Hey now a sixth former has to slave over a hot microwave for multiple minutes to make your food when you go there

Donuts with hamburgers? Ew, I can't imagine that being tasty.

I don't understand the issue, it is not like people will/can have these as part of a regular diet. This is something you go in for once a month with friends. The calorie content of regular hamburgers/cheeseburgers are more dangerous than these gimmick "look how many fattening foods we can stack on top of each other" deals. Also I love everything about it apart from the donuts, I mean why would you want glazed donuts for bread? I think they mean 2000 kilo-calories (kCal) as 2000 calories would really be nothing.
Just looking at that burger is giving me lockjaw already. I'd have to squeeze it down to eat it.
I think they mean 2000 kilo-calories (kCal) as 2000 calories would really be nothing.
When people are talking about food, they almost always are referring to the large calorie, or the nutritional calorie, which is equal to 1000 small, or gram calories. This is commonly accepted language. Stop being a pedant.

But now that you say it, it seems you're right... within the english language that is. There's no such thing as a large calorie in the Norwegian language. It's just Cal and kCal, and people mix them up. For me it seems like mixing meters and kilometers.
Just looking at that burger is giving me lockjaw already. I'd have to squeeze it down to eat it.
I'd probably cave and use silverware. I was actually thinking about that as I scrolled through the thread, my mouth is watering.
If you eat this, you won't even have to count calories anymore. Just eat one of these and you're done for the day.
You'd have to be real skinny not to lose weight just eating one of these a day. (or a woman)
You'd have to be real skinny not to lose weight just eating one of these a day. (or a woman)
You would still get sick from malnutrition even if you don't lose weight when eating only those.
Well, looks like I'm driving to London tomorrow to get me some heart attack burger.
I think you'd take a single bite of the burger then you'd just hear the sound of a slow heartbeat getting louder and louder
I still think it's the consumers' responsibility to not be disgusting pigs, not fast food chains' to tell consumers what is and isn't responsible to eat.
I mostly agree with this but I think fast food chains should not incentivize people to eat horrible stuff like this. Having it on the menu is okay but offering it for cheap prices or in the vein of "if you manage to eat it entirely in x time, you get it for free". Such measures just lead people to eat more stuff like this. I am not trying to bash them though, I eat trash on a regular basis but sometimes it just gets ridiculous.
Donuts with hamburgers? Ew, I can't imagine that being tasty.
recently had Krispy Kreme Cheese Burgers at a party, it was somehow magically delicious.
I just can't picture myself doing anything after eating this but taking a nap. Then a trip to "the office" before another nap.
Mel Wakeman, senior lecturer in Applied Physiology at Birmingham City University, said: "To me, this is simply ludicrous and irresponsible. I am no killjoy but why is this sort of food available?"
uh no mel Im pretty sure that is exactly the definition of a killjoy "Im no racist but geez those darn blacks are really annoying!"
