The year has gone and the photos have been taken, post your favourite/most meaningful photo of the year that you took and maybe say something about it.

love the space/feel of this photo there's something i can't quite put my finger on but I'm very proud of it
I don't know if i'll post anything but i've got to say how bizarre it is seeing this thread again already. I remember when you posted the review thread last year as if it was just a few weeks ago. Considering how much has changed in such a short time evokes a weird feeling.

I'm really happy with the colour, converging lines and depth in this photo. I didn't realise i caught her at such an awesome pose at the time as it happened in a split second, i only realised once i scanned the neg.
also very fond memories

makes the thought of the location (andorra) ring in my head. given my goal in photography is to encapsulate a scene, i think it's my favourite

There's nothing amazing about this picture but this is likely one of the last few times my Mom has been with my grandmother and they were both happy.
My grandmother had a stroke in 2013 and she's been hanging on but recently it's been very evident that she's near the end of her rope. I had a lot of fun times with her, she's an amazing woman and I know that when she's gone I'll be glad I got a picture of her and her daughter smiling.
not the best editing, but meeting you guys down in london was definitely one of the highlights and my favourite times of 2014

i spent last year reconnecting with a lot of people who have made my life a lot better, and more fun. i've been to great places, and made great memories. 2014 was amazing.
2015 is going to be better. B)
I love this one because it has some weird nostalgic feeling about it. But not a personal nostalgia but more of someone else's nostalgia for their childhood but I can kind of partake in. It's weird that I took a photo of someone's childhood and this may or may not be a memorable event in their lives. But I captured it and I'll remember for them.

looks like a still from a movie, i get the nostalgic theme you mean as well.
overall i think 2014 was a decent year for me photographically. i managed to do a 365 and actually take a photo everyday (missing one in my collection, because i'm not done with the roll yet), but i think the quality could have been a bit more consistent. i had some really good ones, but most of the time it was pretty average i would say. in editing though i think i have made some significant strides though, which is good enough for me.

this is my favorite photo i took this year. i remember being on the beach at brighton and it was like 60f or something quite chilly (i'm from arizona leave me alone) and Katherine and i were hiding under this scarf to keep warm. it was just such a crazy moment to me, being on a beach in another country thanks to people that i met online, and through incredibly lucky circumstances i got to have this moment. because of being under the scarf this moment was only between us, and now i have something that i can always remember it by. this photo reminds me of how lucky i am, to have such an exciting and meaningful life, and such a wonderful person with whom i want to share the rest of it with.
This was the year I really put time into photography and know its what I want to do for the rest of my life. I've seen myself improve drastically from last year and I can only see it getting better.

I chose this picture because it was one of the first times I went out of my comfort zone and photographed a friend/model. It was such a good experience in an adventurous kind of way and showed me a whole new way to take pictures. I also just really like how the colors/lighting came out in it to. One of my favorites this year.
when i first thought about it, i thought this year went by very fast. But I went and looked at all my photos and realized tons of things happened this year. I had never shot black and white before this year. I didn't know how to develop film before this year. In 2013, my best camera was my minolta x-700. Now I have a Lecia CL with its proper lens, 2 medium format cameras, and my a7.

I chose this picture because I took it on my birthday, and its with my newest camera, in black and white. I'm taking advanced photography next year, and I hope to meet all you British folks next fall!!
