Hey guys, I believe this is the first thread that I'm making. Anyway, as you all know, around this time of the year, the soon-to-be seniors are getting ready to apply for college. I happen to be one of those people.
I tried searching for a college thread, but it said that it's disabled for now. So sorry if a thread similar to this has been made before.
When it comes down to the complete image for college searching, I never get to actually know the colleges from a personal experience. I wish I could draw all this personal information about colleges from their wikipedia pages and websites, but I really can't. I'd be really interested to see what people have to say about the various colleges that they have attended throughout the US. Sorry, europeans :)
If anyone has any personal experience/info/tips/ideas about a college they've attended, I think many people here would be delighted to know. We all draw from different academic levels so post about all colleges: state, private, rigorous, party school, etc.
This will help other people and I pinpoint colleges for our final list. There are many to choose from, but I hope I can have a better grasp of some unheard of colleges.
So let me hear them, Facepunch
I cannot stress this enough:
Don't go to college
Stockpile weapons
Live off the grid
Go to college in China and bring lots of condoms (theirs' are too small) and fuck all the chicks who are all invariably "OMG WESTERNER" and practically begging to suck you off.
I went to a community college for two semester and its basically high school all over again. I decided not to go and looking for some tech school to go to.
I'm going to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at the end of the month. I'm not living on campus though, since the freshman dorms sucked. I don't understand how people can live in such cramped conditions...
I wanna go to UAT.

Does this seem like a bad idea?
$30 blowjobs, $30 blowjobs everywhere....
Don't go to party's all the time you fuck your self and fail your classes. Moderation is key.
I'd definitely would attend to NYU and complete my economics major there.
2 problems:
1) I live in South America.
2) They don't have any exchange plans with my University, even though it's the best in the country and it's in the continent's top 10.
The only plausible (at least in short term) choice is Syracuse University, any word on that?.
Also, www.theu.com

Hop the border A white van will pull up, thats me I will drive you to NYU
Going to a Lonestar community college for my associates of science then transferring to A&M Galveston for a Bachelors then maybe If I still feel like it going on to get a Ph.D

My aunt went there. She just lived off campus, said it was far easier.
I can only laugh at myself because I want to go Stanford for Medical training.
Don't bother going to an university for the first few years. Community colleges are cheaper and basically amount to the same basic classes you need anyway. Transfer degrees are where it's at.
Going to Clarskson University for a degree in Game Design.
Just found out my room mate and the room number I'm in. I got the new floor that was just built last year.
I will be applying to one or two UC (UCSC for sure), a few CC's in northern California (Cuesta and Cabrillo), Washington State, Northern Arizona, and maybe even a few more on the East Coast.
The only real reason for going to school for me is for the experience. Mine as well associate myself with people who share the same interests as me and RAGE while I still can before I'm thrust into the "real world". Plus I get to study shit I'd like to learn about.
I plan on working with advertising or psychology depending on that particular job market when I graduate. Probably will end up working for Toyota (family friend is in charge of the west coast financial division and he's pushing me) or something.

I wanted to go to Dartmouth. Then I visited the campus last year and realized that I wouldn't exactly fit in.
for the easier and cheaper route go to CC for two years and get your associate in arts and then transfer to a university and get your bachelors
if you want to go away right away to a university that's fine too, but it will be a lot harder and more expensive
Psh, College :v:
You kids are ridiculous.
Listen to me. I'm about to start my second year of college. I took community college classes this summer, so I know what both colleges are like.
I go to Texas State University at San Marcos. It is a very well known party school, one of the main party schools in the nation. It is such a notorious school that they changed the name of it a few years back, it used to be called Southwest Texas State University.
College is fucking awesome.
I'm taking personal loans out the ass because my FASFA anally fisted me without any KY. Despite having to take out a 14k personal loan for this upcoming year, I can easily say that it is worth it. I'd shell out 50k if I had to.
Transfer degrees are okay if you're that ridiculous about money, but honestly, you're going to be missing out on a lot. Community college is basically the 13th grade, it's like High School. It's not fun at all.
College is a fucking blast. It's not that hard to party and get good grades at the same time. I partied my face off last year, got drunk every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, had more sex than is healthy, and still made A's and B's with a C here and there. As long as you go to class, you're fine. Seriously.
There's a reason why a lot of people say college years are the best years of your life. You're going to want 4 (or more) of them so you can soak it up as much as possible. Transferring over will net you just 2 years, and you're going to hate that decision. If you go to a lame ass college with lame ass students, then yeah, get your ass out of there. However, if you go to a badass college like mine that is reputable while maintaining its party school title, you'll fucking love it.
Also, the world's most beautiful girls go to my college. On top of that, there's a river that runs through campus, so they walk around in bikinis and very meager clothing. It's paradise. Literally.
I did first 2 years at a community college then going to VT, sad thing is at my job I know more about networks from my CC classes than 5 people at my job with bachelors. It isn't about where you go, it is about what you learn and how seriously you take it.

You only get out as much as you put in, college isn't suppose to be fun it is about learning. Also summer classes are shit at any college, because everyone wants to be doing something fun

you want to get to know the college on a personal level? that's why you VISIT the college before you make your decision on which college you want to go to.
no matter what college you go to you will have fun.

When the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, a SWAT team had to be dispatched to my college. Or so I heard...
Plenty of colleges have insane annual events and whatnot.
What makes a party school a party school is when crazy events like that go on every week. We have parties so big that they get commercials on TV. Yes, they're that fucking ridiculous. There's nothing quite like watching some Adult Swim in the dorm with the guys, wondering what the fuck to do that night, only for a commercial to show up on TV "15 KEGS 3000 JELLO SHOTS TRASH CAN PUNCH NO COVER CHARGE [address that's walking distance away]." It kicks ass.
I'd like to go to college parties but not go to college.

Does this apply to Japan too? Because I'm more into Japanese chicks.

have fun being in debt for the rest of your life or a very long time
I'm still in High School, but when I get out, I want to go to MIT, after I get an associates at a community college.
Welp.
