I recently purchased a Hypertech PowerModule for my car, but as I was installing it I realized it had ~8 dip switches that weren't documented anywhere in the manuals, and I'm very curious as to what they do. Does anyone here know? I've been searching on google for about an hour now but found nothing, and unfortunately it's too late to call Hypertech and ask one of the reps (Though this chip is so old I have no idea if they'll even support me). Any help is MUCH appreciated.
If it at all matters, it' a model 600321 for a 1990 Thunderbird SC.
I'm hoping that they're tuning parameters for various engine and drivetrain changes like the newer programmable ones provide, but I'm not about to go flipping them without knowing for sure what they do.

Lemme know how it turns out, I also have a 1990 sc.
Aren't those pretty much just resistors or something?
They're awful junk.

Can't help but disagree. I haven't used the new programmers, but the older chips have always made a huge difference, especially on super/turbocharged engines. Hell, even in my old t-bird the difference is just incredible. If it wasn't for curiosity, I wouldn't even be asking about these switches.

I don't think so. There's 8 switches, and all chips come with one of them switched to off, and all others on, depending on the car it was purchased for.
They alter the voltage of the electric signal that goes to the computer coming from the Intake manifold or wherever. They're resistors.

Now I know! Thank you.
