A video I did. I tried to do some new effects, pretty mediocre looking. I even messed around with 3D effects with Blender's new internal camera tracker. Many HL refrences and stuff.

Neat little video.
That was pretty amusing, that has to be one of the better first posts I've seen. Welcome to Facepunch Forums and enjoy your stay.
Many thanks.
That was pretty amusing, that has to be one of the better first posts I've seen. Welcome to Facepunch Forums and enjoy your stay.
Do like! It was interesting that you got cheats from different games.
In other news-

Definitely not as bad as you made it sound. Nice job.

gj, and welcome to FP!
So when someone joins just to post their video it's okay not to tell him "Stop advertising your video" just because it's good?
Facepunch has a bad case of Bi-polar disorder.
Thankyou everybody for all of the feedback. Did not expect everybody to enjoy it this much.
That was really well done. Please carry on making the good stuff :)

Maybe because a lot of people spam their videos in the wrong section.
people who say "stop advertising" are idiots and are phrasing it all wrong
if you have good content we dont care
dont post shit content and it's good
Thankyou everybody for all of the feedback. Did not expect everybody to enjoy it this much.
Well, it's half life related, so it's bound to get -some- good feedback.
As for the video, it's nice. I'd like to see a bit more done with it next time though!

Thanks, I'll definitely try!
Great expressions, film work, etc. I really enjoyed it.
I sense good things to come.
You have talent kid. Put it to good use.

are you kidding me he looked incredibly bored the entire time
Is that a full 3D tracker? Looks like you were merely tracking one side of the keyboard and not the entire plane in space. VooDoo is another free 3D space tracker if you want to check it out.
Blender is known to be tough to learn so it was impressive to see what you came up with.
that was actually pretty cool, very nice

I only used the Blender tracker for when the Metrocop was spawned. The keyboard shots were 2D motion tracked with AE - which is why there are black sharpie dots on the keyboard, to make tracking easier. I'll defenitley check out voodoo, though. Thanks.
Also, try to find yourself a camera with a stabilizer if you ever get a chance. Smoother image=more convincing track, especially if the shaking causes distortion that a tracker will have a hard time compensating for. It was a little "blh" but not a bad short, good work.

Yeah, Canon DSLRs are known for having warped images, thanks for the tip.

Let me just get this out there, you're my favorite "first poster".
Would love to see more videos like this one. Like people have been saying, you've got talent.
