Randy Pitchford is just as bad as Todd Howard. "All units be advised, feminism is awesome!" Holy shit. How have I not heard of that. I think the potential for Battleborn jokes aren't dried up yet.

Battleborn could perhaps have lived a bit longer if it wasn't for the release. Blizzard is a bit of a titan like Rockstar Games in which a lot of publishers try to release their games before one of their games hit the shelf, same thing with GTA V and games that were supposed to launch around the same week. That and compared to Overwatch, Overwatch is a lot more polished. Though i played the beta of Battleborn so perhaps its a lot more tweaked [editline]1st July 2016[/editline]
But Todd is not bad ?
We are making fun of Todd because i guess its a bit of a meme. He sure made some comments about things that were either bullshit or just outright funny but he is not Molyneux type of bad. Example of one of his fuck ups
Example of one of his fuck ups
Skyrim did have infinite quests though, it was the first time they implemented the radiant quest system, which allowed for non-stop quests. The quests were obviously all samey and shit but they were technically infinite.
It's really crazy that these games exist. The similarities are so blatant you'd expect it to be a Chinese knockoff or something when they're actually made by companies who have in the past released fairly successful games. I entirely forgot that this game existed.
But Todd is not bad ?
Fallout 4 was alot of things. It wasn't Anthony Burch once again gracing the game with is subtle writing of "FEMINISM IS AWESOME!" like he did in Borderlands 2. Fucking hell I thought they fired his ass.
I made a mistake in buying Battleborn. i played it for about an hour. It really isn't that much fun.
Todd is a dirty liar who no one ever calls out. But no amount of context justifies a line like "Feminism is awesome".
Todd is a dirty liar who no one ever calls out. But no amount of context justifies a line like "Feminism is awesome".
Because he doesn't really lie. He exaggerates. What we saw of Fallout 4 from that E3 was in Fallout 4. It wasn't all necessarily good things, but Todd didn't lie. Plus I'll take Todd over Andy any day of the week.
Chinese knockoff
Todd doesn't lie, he's just overly ambitious and misinterprets what his development team says. He's like that little kid that hears about something, sees something that looks a lot like it then blows its proportions out the window. Honestly everything he's said is true, its just exaggerated due to his misunderstanding at times, he's only the director and producer so its understandable he might get a few things wrong with the relation of scale. Skyrim does has infinite quests (first time the radiant system was introduced, it is unlimited in how many it can give, but the pool of what it can give is small). You can climb that mountain, and that one, and that one. The building stuff in FO4 does just work. Fallout 4 is an RPG in a sense, no way is it a traditional RPG though. And so on, he doesn't lie, he's just really really optimistic in what he says. [editline]1st July 2016[/editline]
I like Fallout 4 and honestly the only bold faced lie I remember is "FALLOUT 4 HAS NO LOADING TIMES!" and I can't find a context where this was just an exaggeration.
Compared to the previous titles, it doesn't. Only loading screen you'll see is the initial one when loading in your save, moving from exterior to interior isn't like how it was in FO3 and Skyrim, the game doesn't throw you to a loading screen per say, it just blacks out for a few seconds (or minutes if you've modded your game to fuck and theres a lot of script heavy shit going on in the background as it loads in the new cell). Again, its kinda exaggerated but compared to the previous games they've made, FO4 has minimal loading screens and loads MUCH faster.
Skyrim did have infinite quests though, it was the first time they implemented the radiant quest system, which allowed for non-stop quests. The quests were obviously all samey and shit but they were technically infinite.
Its more the way he put it. What his "infinite quests" system really is is a randomizer of 5 to 8 different quests like "Go to A and kill all B" in which the system fills in A and B, that system has been around for a very long time, Citizens of Kabuto has them for example
I haven't played Battleborn, but for me it looks like Borderlands without guns. Which is bad.
But wait there is more! Bethesda's Battlecry
I just, how do you make a game so fucking bland? Like every character is just a really terrible rip off of another game's character, and they wrote the same personality for everyone. Every. Single.Character. They're all "Oh I'm -insert job/role-, but really I'm a sarcastic coward". Both scientist characters are the same character but look different, they speak exactly the same, just one is... evil? I guess?
Fallout 4 was alot of things. It wasn't Anthony Burch once again gracing the game with is subtle writing of "FEMINISM IS AWESOME!" like he did in Borderlands 2. I can barely be bothered to play 10 mins of any campaign of the game, let alone hear the fucking dialog! I'm kind of sad for Battleborn and will be again for Battlecry most likely. Battleborn is doing completely rubbish, and I just have no idea who's idea was to make it a thing after Overwatch was announced. I don't even see the point of Battleborn tbh. It's only PvE right? What fun is that? Also like how just like DotA has LoL ripping off some heroes, Battleborn also rips off some hero ideas from Overwatch. If that isn't ripping off, then its too much coincidence. [editline]1st July 2016[/editline]
Oh yea, when I visited the Evolve devs for some coffee, they actually recommended Battleborn to me, but they also haven't even played the beta yet. Most of the staff was busy playing Overwatch instead. They were like, "It's a fun game! Give it a chance." and I was just sitting there knowing I'll never play it.
Thats ironic as fuck. Devs of a game that didn't do well at all, promoting a game that won't do well at all either, who never played said game before, are instead playing its main competitor.
Those side by side comparisons though. Holy shit.
But wait there is more! Bethesda's Battlecry
Honestly Bethesda did say themselves that game wasn't really ever ready to be shown off. I think it's either being completely re-worked, or canned because of poor popularity combined with the recent advent of Hero Shooters and the titan like popularity of Overwatch.

What they showed at E3 last year was such a boring "been there done that" that most people either forgot it existed or considered it the worst part of Bethesda's 2015 E3 show with no contest.
I wouldn't be surprised at either.
Those side by side comparisons though. Holy shit.
The only one that strikes me as really similar are the two guys that throw their balls at enemies. The others all employ really common gaming tropes.
I haven't played Battleborn, but for me it looks like Borderlands without guns. Which is bad.
But it has guns?
Gonna play devil's advocate here: Battleborn was announced before Overwatch, as were most of the characters in the side-by-side comparison segment of the video. If anything, that makes me think Blizzard copied Gearbox.
relevant [t]https://i.imgur.com/f3gjeu4.jpg[/t] they actually OK'd this

If you're going to miss out on it just because of the dialogue then that's honestly your loss, it's also a pretty pathetic reason to not play a fun game in my opinion. Me and 2 friends are currently playing through Borderlands 2 and if anything, constantly mocking the memes and dialogue has made it funnier for us
The only one that strikes me as really similar are the two guys that throw their balls at enemies. The others all employ really common gaming tropes.
Well technically Zenyatta doesn't throw balls, he throws energy projectiles from his balls. But still yeah they're Similar looking. Plus characters and writing less bad than anything Anthony "I love putting over the top SJW messages in wacky, edgy video games" Burch would spew from his mind.
Anthony "I love putting over the top SJW messages in wacky, edgy video games" Burch
Devil's avocado again: Burch didn't write this game. He supposedly "assisted" in the writing department but the game itself was almost entirely written by Aaron Linde (who, like Burch, has also left Gearbox). I'm not defending the game, I think it's nothing special and is probably the most mediocre video game I have ever experienced (played the beta), but there's a lot of inaccuracies in the buzz/hatred surrounding it. If you're going to hate something, hate it for the right reason/s.
Considering that the "Feminism is awesome" dialogue by that one character is identical to a really bad set of jokes in BL2, it's obvious he had a hand in influencing it. Which in itself is super embarrassing as in BL2 it was a stupid knee-jerk reaction to the complete backlash of a grand total of nobody complaining about Mr Torque's initial appearance.
