President Donald Trump had personal liabilities of at least $315.6 million to German, U.S. and other lenders as of mid-2017, according to a federal financial disclosure form released late on Friday by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics.
He had roughly $20 million in income from his new marquee Washington hotel, which opened just down the street from the White House last September. Revenues also increased at Mar-a-Lago, the Florida resort known as the "Winter White House."
And that's just what's on the books.
Okay so since this is apparently needed every single time:
Debt is not a bad thing. It starts becoming a bad thing when you stop being able to make your payments. Debt is leverage that allows you to acquire assets which generate income which pay down the debt, and you pocket the difference.
For personal finance, no. Well managed debt isn't a problem, and it's a common thing for most people with a job to have.
However, this is the President of the United States of America we're speaking of. It is in the people's interest to know that he doesn't have any conflicts of interest regarding his debtors that would affect his performance in office.
He's steady clearly violated the rules around a blind trust
We should be well the past the stage of patience but there's no end to the apologetics aimed his way

getting yourself into debt (even some) while operating off thin profit margins is a recipe for disaster
We're talking about the president of the United States and not some private person
So anyone that owes debt to anyone should not be president? Should those who are elected president have all of their debts wiped clean? Everyone is a private person until they are elected president.

If you're in debt you probably won't have the money to run for President.
