Pauline Hanson has clashed with 2Day FM hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O over the issue of gay marriage in her first interview since announcing her return to politics.
The former One Nation leader, who plans to stand in this year's federal election, invoked the Diggers in her argument against same-sex marriage and urged listeners to "think of the children".
The hard fact is at the end of the day someone’s got to pay the price for [gay marriage], people have to understand what happened in the past to discover this land, the diggers that fought for us
She also warned that "someone [will] pay the price" if gay marriage becomes legal.
"The fact is I don't agree with gay marriages, or gays adopting children or [having] in vitro fertilisation," she told the hosts, adding that she has "a lot" of gay friends who support her stance.
When Jackie O criticised her views as "old-fashioned", Ms Hanson replied: "It's wonderful that people have opinions and views on these things but the hard fact is, at the end of the day, someone's got to pay the price for all this. People have to understand what happened in the past to discover this land; the Diggers that fought for us."
Sandilands then asked her, "Didn't they fight for us to be free – so that we can all have gay sex?"
"It's not for me, Kyle," Ms Hanson replied.
"It's not for me either," Sandilands said, "[but it's] treating people like second class citizens; if they want to get married, let them get married."
When Ms Hanson warned that gay marriage could result in homosexual couples having the "right to adopt children", it led to the following exchange:
Jackie O: "But they should be able to have children, Pauline."
Ms Hanson: "But then you look at the child. Have they been asked? You have a man, and then you have a woman that's what it's all about. You think of the children as well."
Jackie O: "Your old fashioned views … your generation won't be around in 20 to 30 years' time ..."
Ms Hanson: "And I'll be quite happy about that too because I don't like the way the world is going."
who gives a fuck what she thinks
People still listen to her?
Wait what does the military have to do with gay marriage, I mean you can be openly gay in the military and you've been able to for quite some time :v:.
it takes rare talent to make kyle sandilands look reasonable

a righteous nation may only come about when half of the military is beating the fuck out of the other half with socks and bars of soap
That's the beauty of same sex marriage. You don't have to think of the children!
But the hard fact is, at the end of the day, someone's got to pay the price for all this.
What price is she even talking about?
It's not like allowing same sex marriage will cause some catastrophic disaster that could be avoided with 'good old-fashioned' discrimination. If she doesn't like it, then fine who cares, but to think our soldiers fought in wars to stop people being given the freedom to marry who they want is just idiotic.
What our previous wars have to do with same-sex marriage is irrelevant anyway. They fought for our freedom, which is just blatantly turned on it's head by her to support her views.
Christ, what is she thinking, if anything at all.
adding that she has "a lot" of gay friends who support her stance.
suuure
"I'm not racist. I have black friends!"
yeah I doubt her gay friends respect her views that they don't have the right to marry
very logical indeed

Even if they did agree, it's a half-assed way of saying she has support.
"It's fine I have friends who agree with me."
What a gaping cuntwound.
okay thanks duly noted
you know the world is improving when pauline hanson doesn't like it
She reminds me of my strict catholic grandma who thinks there is a gay agenda, thinks god himself is punishing the us for having gay rights in certain states. She would probably have a siezure if she knew i am dating a transgender mtf girl :v:.
Point is both people are extremely ignorant and born in a different generation, so although they are wrong and stupid, I cant really care/get mad about their views on it (unless she somehow outlaws it or something).
children in schools are going to be looking back in 50 years time and wonder why the fuck there were so many people opposed to gay marriage.
"But then you look at the child. Have they been asked? You have a man, and then you have a woman that's what it's all about. You think of the children as well."
Did she seriously just use part of the hokey pokey in an attempt to get her point across?
I rate that article "T" for "Tolerance".

This and "Backdoor Man" (no official video) were amazing for their time. You know you're a spectacularly shit politician when two songs making fun of you can find their way into the Top 10 charts nationwide.

I included most of it, the last 2 paragraphs are:
Sandilands then asked Ms Hanson if she had ever been in a lesbian relationship, to which she replied, "I can't even believe you're asking me that question."
In announcing her return to federal politics earlier, Ms Hanson said there was no "representation" of Australian life and people in Parliament.

"But then you look at the child. Have they been asked? You have a man, and then you have a woman that's what it's all about. You think of the children as well."
you know, even though there is no reason for exclusively heterosexual couples raising children.
Who picks pictures like that for articles, she-demon eyes almost made me fall backwards.
Not surprised she's still around, lady knows politics, even though her views are just plain wrong.
Sandilands then asked her, "Didn't they fight for us to be free – so that we can all have gay sex?"
Thanks Kyle.
Pauline you're making me agree with Kyle Sandilands and that's not something I like to do.
Wait. She stated she had an anti-gay agenda, then said that she has 'many gay friends' and that they agree with her agenda? I smell bullshit.

"I think all homosexuals should be put into camps and systematically murdered, but it's okay because I have some gay friends that agree."

"I'm not racist. I have black friends!"
So hate when people drop that line. It piss me off so much. If you're not racist, then I'll believe.
wheres that scene from futurama about robosexual marriage
"think of what it will do to our children! then pretend we said what it will do, because we cant think of any reasons"
I'll think of the children as soon as they think of the couple thousand years we've been fucking our own gender and managed to, "somehow" not die off as a species.
