The images of Kerberos and Styx, the smallest of Pluto's five moons, were captured from more than 55 million miles away using the spacecraft's long range camera.

The photos were then processed to remove background stars and the glare of Pluto and the larger moon Charon, according to NASA.
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/nasas-horizons-probe-plutos-faintest-moons/story?id=31000221
I thought Pluto only had one moon, Charon. Are these others just now discovered or was there another reclassification on what a moon can be?

I too thought Charon was the only one and that the others were what's usually classed as quasi-satellites.
there are so many stars behind it it's crazy

In all seriousness though, really looking forward to seeing some clear surface shots of Pluto and its moons. Kind of impressive how we can plot an 11 year mission with such accuracy.
Two more months, two more months... [sp] New Horizons arrives at its closest approach, July 14th, 2015[/sp]
I'm so excited for the arrival.
I can't wait to see the close up images. Pluto has always intrigued me. Such a far away planet, such a small size, and yet it somehow managed to hold in several moons. A little surprised Charon isn't in the image though, is Charon further out?
