yeah so i ordered from a danish site, a pair of smoked jetta mk2 headlights... They were sent from Germany to my home, and now i've found out that they're US jetta headlights.. I would love it, if anyone could help me find the difference between the two styles of lights.. EU and US, and the difference in the mounting.. because honest to god it sucks to figure this out so close to finishing my Jetta front =(
Oh well was worth a try..
don't worry zotic i'm sure it'll turn out ok
As far as I know, the only difference between USDM lights and EDM headlights on most cars is that the US hedlights will point slightly to the right and the EU headlights will point slightly to the left. It's because of the target market's choice of road side. Nothing a little adjusting can't take care of, USDM and EDM lights should mount exactly the same if you got them for the same year (and trim package, depending on brand, but your Jetta has the same lights across all trim packages I'm sure) so there shouldn't be an issue. Honda guys ask this question all the time about JDM lights and USDM lights on EDM cars on various forums. Pretty common thing, actually.
Ahh thanks!
even though one country in the EU actually use the left side of the road :frog:
even though one country in the EU actually use the left side of the road :frog:
True, it's more to do with the side the driver sits on than that, but generally those bass ackwards Europeans are RHD anyways. Isn't their a tax on LHD vehicles there?
What are you talking about? Nearly all cars in europe are LHD. But then again, there's a tax on all vehicles, so I suppose you are right.
Pretty much every country in Europe drives on the right with LHD cars, I think only the UK and Ireland drive on the left.
I'm thinking UK. My bad guys.
In Norway at least all the car lights goes a tiny bit to the right so it lights up the side of the road as well so you can look after animals at night that may jump onto the road and because it gets the light away from other cars you meet so they don't make you so ... "blind" or whatever you say in english :v:
