He is said to have resorted to hacking after becoming obsessed with online gambling and the Zynga Poker game in particular
:sigh: And they say violent video games are bad.
By the title I thought it meant computer chip. Either way it sucks for him.
The sheer amount of chips going missing tipped Zynga off that someone was stealing from it and a sting was set up to track and catch the thief.
Although the article was annoyingly vague on how he actually got admin access and stole the chips, this basically implies stealing a lesser amount may have let him get away? I mean 12 mil is quite a lot to take and people are always going to look at you. Why couldn't he have just gradually withdrawn the money or, hell, just take 500g and get out. That's still a huge amount of money.
They should be out catching the fucking rapists and murderers instead of focusing all of their attention on a fucking hacker stealing virtual poker chips. No one really cares, although it does suck for him.

Do you realize how long it would take you to make 12 million dollars? Do you realize that money isn't free and comes from hard work and time?
Whoah he stole virtual poker chips?
Virtual poker chips which can be cashed into real money.
Virtual poker chips which can be cashed into real money.
Oh well, it's only Zynga.
He'd gotten away with it too if it weren't for those pesky hacker trackers.

Came here expecting James Bond-esque computer chip theft, not disappointed.
