I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about Chicago urbexing places, anyone who does it etc.
I've been looking around for others in Chicago too, it's quite difficult to find anyone willing to be honest. You could always check these guys out:

Not sure how active they are though. Gary, IN is usually a place people recommend instead of Chicago, though it can be dangerous over there.
Really both places are trashy, I'm sure if you went to the southside you'd find loads of places but the gangs and crime are issues
I know your feels! Been looking everywhere to find good spots in my area. Feels like an almost lost cause in the urbanest of areas. All's I really have around here would be sketchy abandoned places which wouldn't be considered to "abandoned" nor fun to go to haha. Best of luck to you on finding places local to yah !

Lots of old, abandoned factories and warehouses in North Chicago.
Pilsen area.
