I really used to like Wheatly when portal 2 first came out, and maybe it's just me but he has been pushed so much on you-tube and sites like that. It's almost like he has sort of lost his charm and just became a bit of an annoyance.

I think joker won mostly because of the fact that Hamill is retiring from the role after that performance.

I know it's silly, but is there something planned? HL3? Portal 3?
In order to win next year, he'd need to appear in a game and that would be either in the Portal or in the Half life franchise, since they share the same universe....

Probably after Dota 2 and CS:GO. Mid-to-late 2012, maybe? 2013, latest.
Just like Rockstar, they're probably setting these things aside, as HL3 and GTAV are their biggest latest titles (respectively).
Marketing for what we already have, and in the first place (Dota 2/CS:GO/MP3).
