Poor woman. The doc will probably be punished hard. Anaesthesiologists need a fuck-load of training and if they fuck up it's bad for them.
How the fuck do you mistake the two? Did they have like no labeling/organization at all?
And I thought it was bad when I pulled mine out. Holycrap, poor woman. I'm having trouble comprehending a fuck -up of this magnitude.
Well, at least the baby's okay.
Epidurals and antiseptics come in completely different packaging and what's inside is completely different, how do you confuse that at all?
Somewhere in this same hospital, someone is getting a blood transplant with red koolaid.
But no seriously this adds to my distrust of hospitals.
This happened three years ago - check the date.
But no seriously this adds to my distrust of hospitals.
It's a one time mistake that's probably never happened in a western hospital before. I can guarantee it won't be happening again any time soon as this doctor doesn't have a job anymore
This happened three years ago - check the date.
Bah, I saw it on the news today.
It's a one time mistake that's probably never happened in a western hospital before. I can guarantee it won't be happening again any time soon as this doctor doesn't have a job anymore
you have too much faith in a system filled with people. mistakes happen and doctors aren't always as well trained as they need to be as well as nursing and supplies staff may not always be well trained either also when it comes to birthing, hospitals are far from well trained on that subject
This happened three years ago - check the date.
This only makes it more shocking, we're only finding out about it now because the hospital has been covering it up for three years!
It's a one time mistake that's probably never happened in a western hospital before. I can guarantee it won't be happening again any time soon as this doctor doesn't have a job anymore
Its an unreasonable fear I know. I just have had bad luck and it really piles up. Recently, my girlfriend's brother went in for some nasal congestion. They told him it was just a cold. About a week later he was suffering from terrible pain in the same area. They did an MRI and it turned out he had a severe sinus infection, and said that if he had waited another week, he could have gone blind in one eye.
"Into her spinal..."?
maybe the doctor was dyslexic
Why the fuck would you inject antiseptics into someone's spine.
It's a one time mistake that's probably never happened in a western hospital before. I can guarantee it won't be happening again any time soon as this doctor doesn't have a job anymore
Actually I remember hearing about a story where the doctor mixed up the oxygen and anesthetics tube for the breathing system, resulting in a woman chocking to death.
maybe the doctor was dyslexic
I don't see what that has to do with it
Actually I remember hearing about a story where the doctor mixed up the oxygen and anesthetics tube for the breathing system, resulting in a woman chocking to death.
Bit different, at least the tubes probably look similar
Every human makes mistakes. Kinda feel bad for the guy, all it took was just a few seconds-worth of confusion to mix them up.
Every human makes mistakes. Kinda feel bad for the guy, all it took was just a few seconds-worth of confusion to mix them up.
Not a mistake of this magnitude, though. This is like shouting ICEBERG HO as you smash into the side of it. When you're performing an epidural you need to be incredibly sharp about what you're doing, because it's not just the patient but her child at risk.
Every human makes mistakes. Kinda feel bad for the guy, all it took was just a few seconds-worth of confusion to mix them up.
This is too big of a fuckup for me to feel bad for this guy
It says it basically paralyzed her, will she ever recover?
It says it basically paralyzed her, will she ever recover?
paralysis isn't "i got better"
My Dad almost got killed by a doctor fucking up medication. Overdosed him on cholesterol pills. Still, he got his comeuppance, died this year.
This is too big of a fuckup for me to feel bad for this guy
He didn't do it intentionally. It was an accident. I know that's not an excuse, but you do have to feel some sympathy for him. His career is essentially over.
Somewhere in this same hospital, someone is getting a blood transplant with red koolaid.
spaghettio transfusion.
