A man walked into a Dunkin Donuts store in DeLand Thursday and asked an employee for a pen with which he wrote on a napkin that he was robbing the store, DeLand police said.
According to police, the suspect entered the Dunkin Donuts store at 1298 S. Woodland Blvd. at 8:30 p.m. and sat at a table. He then approached the counter and asked a cashier for a pen. He went back to table.
The robber returned to a counter holding a napkin that contained a note stating the suspect was robbing the store. The man held up the napkin with one hand and put his other hand in the back pocket of his pants, implying he had a weapon, police said.
The cashier quickly opened the cash drawer and handed all the money to the robber, who grabbed the money and ran out of the store, police said.
The robbery remains under active investigation and police are not releasing any specific details about the suspect, said DeLand police Sgt. Chris Estes. [/quote]

That's actually pretty smart.
Much better than causing a huge fuss and shouting at everyone while waving a gun around.
well did he return the pen?
That's my town. :v:
Cleverly done. I mean, you'd never know if any of the customers would call the police had they known that a robbery was going on.
Idiot. Why rob a doughnut store if you aren't going to steal all the doughnuts?

Probably not, seeing as his prints would be on the pen.

And possibly a cop is on his break munching down doughnuts behind the corner of the Restaurant?
