NEWTON, IOWA — Mike Pence sought to dissuade a supporter from advocating a “revolution” if Hillary Clinton wins the election, urging her at a campaign rally Tuesday to drop such talk. Amid cheers from the crowd, an attendee told Pence she was deeply afraid of voter fraud in the presidential election and suggested extreme measures. “Our lives depend on this election. Our kids’ futures depend on this election,” she continued. “For me personally, if Hillary Clinton gets in, I myself am ready for a revolution.” Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate immediately pushed back on that sentiment. “No, don’t say that,” he said, urging her to pull back from the “revolution” comment. The woman responded: “I’m just saying it. … You know, I’m like Trump."

The Indiana governor then noted that elections are administered at the state level and encouraged people to get involved in the electoral process if they are concerned with voter fraud, perhaps as a poll watcher.
source Here's an abridged version: "If Hillary wins WE SHOULD REVOLT." "No, that's stupid." "BUT I'M LIKE TRUMP? IS TRUMP STUPID???" "...what have I done?"
Why do I get the feeling we're doomed?
I have to assume that the Republicans are now firmly regretting whipping up the stupidity they did after 2008.
Why do I get the feeling we're doomed?
dont worry, all it takes is one bunch of idiots with rifles to occupy a place and needlessly put up a fight after the government has done absolutely everything to defuse the situation for the message to sink in. wait fuck we had that in Oregon, well guess its martial law for any state that votes trump in the new hillary order.
Pence must regret this decision so much.
He ought to be. He's partially responsible for a potential orangeshirt coup attempt. :v:
I have to assume that the Republicans are now firmly regretting whipping up the stupidity they did after 2008.
GW firmly stired the stupid pot to handsomely win 2 elections, its just there were at least enough sane old guard in office that the crazy didnt leak through
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. We're talking about how stupid Trump supporters like the one Pence was addressing are, and that that's bad.
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
It isn't. The fact that he has to work to contain his own supporters from violence is bad.
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
no one is implying that it's bad?
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
the bad part is the violent nondemcratic nuts who want to start rioting if trump loses
I'm afraid that when Clinton wins some Trump supporters will go out and commit hate crimes
He probably recognizes that association with those people is not good for his image. Scary though regardless
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
That part's...not bad at all? Say what you will about Pence's policies and ideas, but he's pretty statesmanlike and has been proven to be able to carry himself with some grace. The underlying issue is that Trump's rhetoric is cultivating this kind of response out of some of his supporters. Anyone who would have argued about Clinton rigging the whole elections would be regarded as an utter retard, but now they literally get validation from Trump. Oh, I am an idiot? Well I am like Trump, and Trump's good!
I hope no rebellion actually happens. I am a firm second amendment supporter but hate Trump, and it would pain me to see a few idiots lose the right to bear arms for everyone in the process of "exercising" those rights. By attempting to do something like this they would only stoke the anti-gun flames higher.
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
Ehhh, the issue isin't Pence, it's the crazy people advocating for a revolution if Trump loses the election. Pence did good in this instance.
I'm afraid that when Clinton wins some Trump supporters will go out and commit hate crimes
That's why minorities and potentially targeted people should start arming themselves for self defense purposes. Let these Trump supporters have a taste of their 2nd amendment they love so much if they try to go out and harm others.
Pence advocates for peaceful democratic process How is this bad
Well his political partner, Trump, is dangerously close to lighting gunpowder via saying that the election will be rigged if his opponent wins and making a program for people to "moderate" polling places. Not good to send such wildly different messages.

A revolution would last no more than 5 minutes once the drones are scrambled Good luck taking your ar 15 semiautomatic to a drone fight
Ah, so that's how the US won in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.
the united states is not unfamiliar territory to the united states military
A revolution would last no more than 5 minutes once the drones are scrambled Good luck taking your ar 15 semiautomatic to a drone fight
it isn't as easy to drone strike your own citizens
the united states is not unfamiliar territory to the united states military
You think Afghanistan was unfamiliar territory to the US after a dozen years of combat?
I never thought I would have to repost from 4chan... TL;DR? The scare factor of Tanks and Drones is ineffectual in a true revolution/rebellion scenario.
He's kind of stuck in a difficult position. People like that, foaming at the mouth over the possibility that Hilary becomes President, need to be talked down from the ledge. But at the same time people like that are the ones who'll vote for the Trump ticket, so deflating their derangement means neutering your own vote. What to do, what to do?
That part's...not bad at all? Say what you will about Pence's policies and ideas, but he's pretty statesmanlike and has been proven to be able to carry himself with some grace.
I may have agreed with that, if not for the fact Pence has pointed to the part in the second debate where Trump promses to imprison the leader of his political opposition if elected president as a 'strong moment.' Pence doesn't have much of a leg to stand on when it comes to democratic process.
Ah, so that's how the US won in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.
All three of which the opposing force was militarily decimated and the biggest issue was cultural differences and distances. Are you nuts? No insurgency in the continental US would survive even the FBI, let alone the God damn army. Estimated 75% desertion for a Democrat and 50% for a Republican? What?
