Has the "chillness" about DD just become a gimmick recently? - General

So I'm on the comedown listening to Zelda: Ocarina of Time post-rock ([url]http://coryjohnson.bandcamp.com/album/legend-of-zelda-demos[/url]) and browsing through DD when I got thinking. It's not as chill here anymore as it was, that's a fact. It's hard to have the same amount of friendliness and "chill" when we're just being bombarded with idiotic threads and posts ("What's the best way to get money for weed? I usually take from my mum"). It's become almost like a chore to maintain, because we still hold ourselves as having this "chill" quality about ourselves and our board that we get even more frustrated when we have to repress our true throughts for fear of being branded "unchill" -Is that really "chill"? Whenever I see somebody pointing out a fact or being generally unfriendly or whatever, the popular response is "What happened to DD being so chill?" "Can't we just be chill?" "Unchill". It's pretty much the equivalent of forcing a meme. I know DD isn't that much of a chill place anymore, but I think we still call it chill because everybody else does and we want to feel like our sub-forum is better than any other- when infact it's become the very generic forum that we've all frowned upon. Just writing down my thoughts, feel free to do the same. Love for DD.

I haven't been around DD for long but i still think of this as the best sub-forum of facepunch. I dont go anywhere else (except the hot girls thread...) I still think its pretty chill <3

I don't think we have any fear of being unchill. We have just been really over-populated by younger kids in the forum and more people in general. DD will honestly never be the same so I made the choice of moving forums. Not much else to do.

I go around Psyc Fourms and RC Forums. This is the only place I really post, but I spend most of my time lurking on other sites now and then or watching movies, youtube crap, ect.

Its just that, like cypher pointed out, when you put up retarded threads like (RACISM/PROFILING, IM STARING AT YOU FREEHUGS) you are asking for conflict and arguing. The addicts lounge, post your piece, and other purely informational drug threads are all chill, we help each other out and other people trying to learn about drugs but its those useless threads that might as well be in other places that kinda fuck things up. We are a chill group because we aim to educate and enjoy life, unlike the rest of facepunch that is "you dont like this movie/game/show? you are a down syndrome child and no one loves you." I definitively think that we are chill, its just that things get a little out of hand when other issues are brought into this thread. Now i hope some of this isnt my fault when i try explaining a psychological phenomenon, im just trying to be informative and i figure psychology would be a popular subject in here, i mean who doesnt like to know how the brain works. If you felt the need to offer a defense for your own semi-anonymous opinions, then subconsciously you must feel as though you're open and vulnerable to criticism and judgement. This is my whole point about DD -The bottom line is no matter how much we polish it, we all know on some level that it's turning/has turned to shit.

DD should have a Mod but hey, they probably wont do that because now all the mods are supermods.

Take it easy, this is still the friendliest section on the whole forum and I still enjoy browsing around here. Sure, there are some douches, but fuck that. Words are words. I don't mind anyone insulting me, especially not over the internet, the only thing that offends me is when people are treating me unfair, and again over the internet I don't really care as much as in real life. Start taking things a bit more lightly, be a bit more pacient and helpful with each other, and feel free to explain your feelings/thoughts without fearing to be judged. Fuck it, let's get high.
