• Anonymous To “Destroy” Sony’s Online Network for SOPA Support
With Sony’s online service hacked and brought down earlier in the year by internet activists Anonymous, gamers everywhere suffered from the downtime of the PlayStation Network and its subsequent hack. Unfortunately, if you thought that it was all over, then you’d sadly be wrong – Anonymous seems to have declared war on Sony, again. YouTube channel TheAnonMessage uploaded the following video on Google’s video service:

Hello, SONY. We are Anonymous. It has come to the attention of the Anonymous activist community that you have chosen to stand by the Stop Online Piracy Act. This act will halt online businesses and restrict access to many sites for many users. Supporting SOPA is like trying to throw an entire company from off a bridge. Your support to the act is a signed death warrant to SONY Company and Associates. Therefore, yet again, we have decided to destroy your network. We will dismantle your phantom from the internet. Prepare to be extinguished. Justice will be swift, and it will be for the people, whether some like it or not. Sony, you have been warned. To those doubting our powers. We’ve infiltrated the servers of Bank of America, The United States Department of Defense, The United Nations, and Lockheed Martin. In one day. For their approval to SOPA, we have also declared that our fury be brought upon the following persons. Justin Bieber. Lady Gaga. Kim Kardashian. and Taylor Swift. Operation Blackout, engaged. Operation Mayhem, engaged. Operation LulzXmas, engaged. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Supporters of SOPA, you should’ve expected us.

With Sony being one of the largest publishers and producers of films, music and games, piracy has severely impacted their profits, and have a vested interest in SOPA being passed. While it’s fair to protest SOPA and any company that supports it, Anonymous’ actions earlier this year showed that the group is willing to let normal consumers suffer from their attacks. It’s important to note that Anonymous have no central leadership, and this video seems to be the only declaration of war against Sony so far, so it’s hard to tell just how many Anonymous ‘members’ are actually behind the new attack. PlayStation LifeStyle will keep you updated with further coverage of Anonymous and the threat, as it develops. In the meantime, we must reiterate the importance of ensuring your password on the PSN is different to other sites.
http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/12/29/anonymous-to-destroy-sonys-online-network-for-sopa-support/
Holy fuck why did you type it in PHP Anyways, as dumb as SOPA is, Anonymous have to change their approach to it. It's just getting silly now.
And then nothing happens.
Holy fuck why did you type it in PHP Anyways, as dumb as SOPA is, Anonymous have to change their approach to it. This will be a piece of cake though, knowing corporations they probably havent changed their security.
I honestly thought it was pretty funny last time when it happened watching all the PS3 people complain about it all the time. Wish Anonymous would stop saying stupid cheesy stuff they got from movies in their letters though. REALLY hard to take that serious.
Ok I removed the PHP, in preview it didn't have the scroll box.
Yea man... Let's DDOS some sites. That'll show them.
It's almost like Anonymous is some false-flag organization created to embarrass and discredit movements.
I can never take Anonymous seriously.
Is anon aware that they are one of the reasons why people support sopa? Sure it's mostly about piracy and stuff, but skiddies are there too.
I'm going to assume that they're butthurt over Sony accusing them of the PSN hack. also this isn't going to help your reputation with Sony at all.
We hacked Bank of America, The United States Department of Defense, The United Nations, and Lockheed Martin IN ONE DAY okay no we didn't
Oh dear god I just LOST it at
For their approval to SOPA, we have also declared that our fury be brought upon the following persons
This is seriously getting kind of silly. I mean it never wasn't silly, but really now. At least they're on the right side I guess.

REALLY hard to take that serious.
It didn't just affect PS3 people, it affected people who got Portal 2 free from PS3 purchase, I couldn't play it on my own account until a month later, it sucked, it was the first Valve game I didn't play on release (post hl2)
I cannot stop laughing from the video it makes it 120% less serious
Yes this is certainly going to help our cause.
Hey guys, let's show our lack of knowledge on a subject by perpetuating things everybody else on Facepunch says about it! Anonymous is just a bunch of neckbeards who DDOS! It surely isn't comprised of several unique individuals with different talents and goals! Thanks for proving your ignorance by rating me dumb.

And even if this was made by said "unique individuals", they evidently have a retarded flair for the dramatic that only harms their cause, so they apparently can't be too smart.
Hey guys, you don't know who I REALLY am so I'm part of anonymous! man I'm so badass I helped hack the GOVERNMENT but you won't know if I'm telling the truth because I'm part of anonymous, take that nerds~!
Hey guys, you don't know who I REALLY am so I'm part of anonymous! man I'm so badass I helped hack the GOVERNMENT but you won't know if I'm telling the truth because I'm part of anonymous, take that nerds~!
Put it better than I ever could. If Anonymous weren't so fucking open about who joins they'd be infinitely more effective and, dare I say it, not run literally by eleven-year-old Skiddies.
Lulzxmas is probably the worst form of that name they could have come up with. At least Lulzmas rolls off the tongue at least a little.
it's hard to take seriously but... why do you need to take it seriously for it to be important, who cares if it's cheesy if they get shit done.
We are anonymous we do not forgive we do not forgive we are not that bad

From what I remember Justin Bieber was against things like SOPA. Also, this doesn't effect me at all. Call me when they threaten Steam.
well this seems kind of unfair considering Nintendo supports SOPA as well
From what I remember Justin Bieber was against things like SOPA. Also, this doesn't effect me at all. Call me when they threaten Steam.
well it's not like the attack is designed for stopping players, but the company
Uh, did they miss the date on "LulzXmas" because christmas already kind of passed. Or did they do something?
