Tl;DR: US Special Forces Raided, By helicopter from Navy Warship on Al-Qaeda terrorist
A U.S. Special Forces raid in Somalia may have killed a wanted al Qaeda terrorist, U.S. officials said Monday. The FBI has this photo of Saleh ali Saleh Nabhan on its Web site. Special Forces used a helicopter to fire on a car in southern Somalia on Monday, killing several people, including one the U.S. military believes was Saleh ali Saleh Nabhan, a senior al Qaeda operative. Nabhan has been tied to several attacks in East Africa, including the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, according to the sources. Nabhan has been on the FBI's most wanted list for several years. The officials who talked to CNN are familiar with the latest information on this incident but did not want to be identified because they were not authorized to talk to the media. The helicopter flew from a U.S. Navy warship offshore, one of the sources said. The ship kept watch on the operation and was ready to rescue the U.S. troops if they got into trouble. The official said the troops landed to take away the body believed to be that of Nabhan for positive identification. The United States had intelligence that he was in the area, and was monitoring the situation for several days, the sources said. President Obama signed off on the operation, a senior U.S. official told CNN's Ed Henry. Sounds like they were rocking that car from an MH-6. Operating with 160th SOAR, maybe? Anyway, these Task Force fellas are pretty hooah, regardless of who was flying them around.
killing several people
Wait, does it mean they killed several suspected terrorists, or killed them because of shooting at the target, they accidentally hit others.
America, FUCK YEAH! Coming again to save the Motherfucking day yeah! Also, this is awesome.
But he's so dreamy :(
I'm trying to remember what happened last time we did this.... Oh wait!
Not like Somalia is going to do anything about it, why not.
That is a crazy photo... That's from the real deal isn't it? Doesn't look like the movie, although I haven't seen it in a while
Wait, does it mean they killed several suspected terrorists, or killed them because of shooting at the target, they accidentally hit others.
here we go...
Comparing one attack on a single, unguarded ground vehicle to the whole of Operations Restore Hope and Gothic Serpent is retarded to consider.
Wait we went back? I thought we figured out they were batshit crazy the first time
Wait, does it mean they killed several suspected terrorists, or killed them because of shooting at the target, they accidentally hit others.
They're Special Forces, they don't miss. fffffffffff break my automerge
I wonder why they didn't use drones, I mean after the first time...
I wonder why they didn't use drones, I mean after the first time...
There weren't any Reaper's in the area.
I'm trying to remember what happened last time we did this.... Oh wait!
Yes, because this is just like Black Hawk Down.
I wonder why they didn't use drones, I mean after the first time...
Navy ships aren't equipped to launch UAVs. Not to mention the money it would cost just for the salt breeze to ruin one of those pieces of equipment.

About time we did something super cool again.
hoorah.
I did not think we'd ever try any kind of operation in Somalia again. Well, go Special Forces! They've really been earning their paychecks lately.

You don't fuck with SF guys.
tl;dr Conducting unauthorised military operations on foreign soil is pretty much a decleration of war. True, not much they can do to a super power such as America, but it doesn't help things.
tl;dr Conducting unauthorised military operations on foreign soil is pretty much a decleration of war. True, not much they can do to a super power such as America, but it doesn't help things.
No it's not. Totally different.
tl;dr Conducting unauthorised military operations on foreign soil is pretty much a decleration of war. True, not much they can do to a super power such as America, but it doesn't help things.
what you gonna do about it
Wow. They associate every terrorist with Al-Qaeda. Seriously.
I wonder why they didn't use drones, I mean after the first time...
Well...for a start whenever they use a drone they seem to miss their target completely and hit a red cross unit or school packed with kids.
