The expired condom line is oh so relatable.

Are condom expiration dates really a thing? Like, I was under the impression that as long as they aren't like 10 years old than it's not a big deal.
Shame I never used one...
"What do you want, do you want me to put me physically the condom on you? Is that the thing you want from me?"
That line cracked me up so hard.
So much depended on the song, and that was brilliant

I think it has to do with the plastic like drying out or hardening and then potentially cracking. Ones I've bought last til like mid 2017 though.

the latex and lube can dry up, meaning it can crack/rip making it useless.

you have to eat it before the best by date

ye i try to keep a habit of trying to keep em around for like a week or two. not only can they naturally weaken over time, storage conditions are key. Too hot and it can make the latex supple and easier to break, but at the same time if they get too cold they can become brittle. Both situations are no bueno
this is why gloveboxes and wallets are a no-go for storage unless you get trojan to-go, which are designed to have a stronger carrying sleeve so it doesn't break, alongside being slightly more insulated.

On average, their expiration date is 3-5 years, and that's assuming they're stored properly.
For example, keeping one in your wallet isn't recommended because the body heat and friction wears it out faster.

Rubber degrades. Some degrades slower than others, but it all degrades - it's soft, pliable, and likes to hang out with oxygen in ways that it's momma told it not to.
I mean you can use an expired johnny if you want but it's more likely to suffer a catastrophic failure and then your little fellas might go off and make you a new pink little fella that you have to look after
Also don't keep them in glove boxes or wallets, or use oil-based lube.

Yep. I'm not sure if most brands have the expiration on the condom package itself but I know you can definitely find it on the box. They do actually last quite a while if they're kept out of the sun at normal room temperature.

Even here in Quebec where sex ed is mandatory and actually pretty good, people still do dumb shit like keep condoms in their wallet (despite explicit advice against it).
The pill is the greatest thing ever created. No more buying the most expensive 'extra safe' condoms plus periods are more irregular. yipp
