Hey, a friend of mine is thinking of quitting face book after being hacked 4 times past 3 different passwords. Any help to prevent this disastrous event would be good. Note: Any advice is accepted
Punch him in the face the next time it happens.
Dont click links from friends [editline]Darp[/editline] Seriously. Once one person got hacked, they used that person tp hack others, and then that person to hack others.....
Maybe he has a keylogger on his computer A virus scanner can fix that EDIT: You rated me box for giving decent advice?
Maybe he shouldn't set his password to "12345", "qwerty", "54321", or "password" [editline]26th October 2010[/editline] And scan for virus too.
Maybe he shouldn't use an unsecured network
if you get 'hacked' 3 times, it either means he's dumb by giving his password away, or his passwords are EXTREMELY easy to guess, or he does have some sort of keylogger. (edit or maybe the post above me) If I would have been 'hacked' 3 times on different passwords, I would suppose it's a virus of some sort
who cares? it's facebook.
Maybe he shouldn't be using Fakebook and should actually go out and socialize with friends instead of "like hurr" shit on pages.
Clean computer of viruses Change password to something a little strong than 1234 Don't click dodgy shit
Facebook wasn't hacked, he's just an idiot. Thread title is misleading.
who cares? it's facebook.
Good one, Jagger
Kill him, he cares too much about Facebook and will soon drag you into Facebook with him
facebook is stupid anyways
Let him, retarded site anyways. Too many privacy issues and security holes.
I hate the way people misuse the word 'hack'. "lol my best mate hacked my facebook guys sorry" advice... he did something stupid and he deserves what he's getting. sorry

Format hard drive, reinstall windows, add security software, use it this time.

Use a Mac
Either stop using facebook or get some common sense.
facebook is stupid anyways
OP is only asking for advice not your opinion
Couldn't he try making another account under the same name and use that for a while? If that gets hacked then you'll have a clearer picture of the problem, if it doesn't, cut his losses and just re-add all his friends. Oh, and when I say "you're friend" and "He" and "his" I mean you, because it's quite clearley you're account that's been hacked.
Use a Mac
Or Linux. Or any *nix-like system.
