For those who don't know, some time ago a group calling themselves "Poem Studios" released a teaser website advertising their remake of the first KOTOR found here http://www.apeirongame.com/
This is the first """"Gameplay""""" footage released to the public after those teaser shots.
This looks god awful.
Like do whatever the fuck you want, it's not like I have to play it, but this literally looks nothing like KotOR. I've probably put like 1000 hours in to those fuckin' games over the years and there's not a single shot that I would recognize as a recreation of a location in KotOR in the entire video :v:
It looks really over-greebled, to the point where the actual aesthetic of Star Wars (and especially the KotOR style) is totally lost.
yeah it's totally got the superficial generic sci-fi game look to it. it shouldn't be about trying to do dazzling graphics it should be about recreating the great feel of the original games
it's like they read a summary of what the places are supposed to look like and tossed in a ton of generic sci-fi assets and some sand or a flying vehicle and called it kotor
Oh yeah this isn't legal either.

Nothing says "high-quality" quite like a group that systemically spells original incorrectly.

this isn't even the original message. they changed it after a ton of people bombarded them on twitter and email right after the site went up.
i don't have a picture, but i do have a quote from an earlier thread.
Is this legal? Absolutley!
Can you make a Star Wars game? Remakes of games have been around since the 80's and some have become very sucessful. Games like Black Mesa did it with Half Life and Renegade X rebuilt Command and Conquer in the Unreal Engine 3.
btw they absolutely spelled it absolutley
I read this on Gameinformer. Wasn't sure what the fuss was about, until I saw some of the buildings. Even when I never played KOTOR, some of the props with the exception of the letters, look nothing like Star Wars. It's old west meets knights meets the far future. This looks...just far future.
The guy isn't even the developer, he's just the guy who gets a sneak peek.
my eyes actually felt a momentary relief every time he looked away from a light source
This demo does a fantastic job of showing us absolutely nothing about this game besides the aesthic which lacks any real flair.
Like I don't undertand, is it all going to be first person and real time? Jesus if the name KOTOR wasn't slapped on you could have fooled me as to what this even was.
Disney is gonna CnD this shit so fast. Once it gets any attention it's gonna be shut down, that's usually how these fan adaptations seem to work.
