• What creeps you out the most in Urbex?

Just a thought, but what are some of your creepy experiences, worst fears, and things that make you cringe? For some reason rotting insulation creeps the fuck out of me. Like even in small 1 room sheds I can't stand being inside underneath exposed insulation. Just gives me the creeps. Stuff like this Other fears are the usual, long ass dark hallways, unsafe floors, etc. Most stuff won't stop me but I will definitely stand around second guessing it.
I hate it when it goes deathly quiet. Makes me proper paranoid.
never have been feared in all my urbex-life ._.
Peeling paint in old buildings during low light situations gives me the creeps, along with old childrens toys.
When shit that looks like it came out of Condemned happens (i.e. Accidentally finding a meth lab)

Noises that aren't me or my friends, wind (y'know, when it whistles) and the feeling of being watched/followed.
Exploring at night but I think that is when it is the most fun. The thrill of "did you hear that or was it just me?" adds a little something. I was once with two friends and we got to this part of two abandoned building that looked like an old auto shop but factory sized. The walls were very damaged and it created a kind of maze like layout. It freaked me out because of all the tight corners on top of pitch black darkness and one torch between us all. I'm not claustrophobic it was the thought of some crazed homeless guy could of been lingering around. I did get that feeling of being watched as well.
bloodstains
-lol nevermind used Google, seems cool-
The pile of baby shoes in the factory was kinda whathtefuckman. Also when dripping water sounds like footsteps and you tactically shit your pants.
When my friends decide that I should go through all the doorways first and probe anything unsafe, because "this was all your idea". Not really scary, just puts me on edge.
Any children's items, hell even looking at a playground can give me chills.
Honestly, things that don't have graffiti. I mean not even a single, lone watermark or signature. That both freaks me out and gets me going because I know I'm walking where almost nobody has before.

I could imagine it being a hotspot for security and what not.
Another thing that creeps me out is when one time I tripped over a broken chair and fell onto an unstable surface, which broke and I fell about seven feet down into a basement, that was completely void of light. Anything and everyone around the building could probably hear it :D
spooky ghosts
when the skeletons pop out always gets me.
Ouch, any injuries? How did you manage to get out of there?
I landed on like a bunch of cardboard, got slightly bruised up but none other than that. As for how I got out, i just used a dim keychain light to find stuff to stack up and climb back out. (A chair, three boxes, and a book xD) I couldn't find a door down there .-. It was like the room was bricked off.

I really hate touching rusty things with my hands, as if merely touching it without some kind of barrier will give me instant tetanus. That aside, I AM the thing creeps people out. A few years when I was exploring the old Dominion Mill in my town of Maryborough, I noticed there were some other urbexers who had arrived before me. Photo of the place (not mine) [t]http://i.imgur.com/QbGKj8p.jpg[/t] Anyway, the urbexers who were there had left their bags outside with most of their stuff in (other side of the building you can see above). I rummaged through and found they had a neat little sushi lunch and a small bottle of soy sauce to accompany it. I saw the soy sauce and a broken window then the idea came to me. Got a bit of sauce and spilled it on the broken glass and jammed their tiny pocket knife into the wooden frame of the window. I took a bit of sushi (it was delicious) and packed their bag up. Took a couple of big breathes and gave out the most guttural, violent scream I could and made a mad dash out of there. Behind the mill is the semi-used train line so I slid down onto the tracks (the tracks are in an artificial channel about five meters deep) and climbed up on the other side, into someone's backyard. I looked through the bushes in the yard over to the other side of channel, to see this young couple who couldn't have been more than twenty years old rush outside to check their bags/what had happened. They saw the window, soy "blood" and the knife and must have shit themselves multiple times over. They bolted like crazy mofos without a second thought so I went back and scored myself the knife they had left behind :v:

The mysterious chill that it gives me is beautiful.
the thought of stepping on nails that you can't see. my foot is really swollen right now. i can hardly walk on it.
I hate it when it goes deathly quiet. Makes me proper paranoid.
I love that deathly silence. There's really nowhere else you can go in this world to hear absolutely nothing. I mean, even if you go into the deep wilderness far away from civilization, you've still got ambient noise from birds and wildlife and shit. Abandoned buildings are just, well, no sounds.
What creeps me out the most is when you are in a broken down house and you hear creaking. Also when i urbex alone I get creepped out. I will never again urbex alone. The feeling that people will never find you if you get hurt is too much.
What freaks me out most is when there is one room that is actually perfectly clean and has a lamp or something on. Happened when I was exploring in Texas. Everything else was all messy and dark except for that room. There was also an animal head mounted on one of the walls somewhere in this other place I was in. Scary scary for me.
When you visit a place twice, and the second time, there's stuff that's been knocked over or damaged, e.g. there was a whiteboard that was on a wall, that had been ripped off when we next went, and in the room opposite, some of the wallpapery kinda stuff that was hanging down from the ceiling had become more ripped. Doesn't help that this was at the beginning of a long-ass corridor, that was dark at one end due to the lack of windows. When you hear a woman shout "Augghh get out" Mostly pigeons, fucking pigeons man. Either they fly right at your heard, and you brick yourself, or you hear one of them cooing and it sounds like a woman moaning in pain, and you brick yourself.
When you hear stuff getting knocked over, infact I brought my Dad to an abandoned village, two minutes later it was silent and suddenly hear my dads famous "RUN BITCH, RUUUNNNN!!!" that echos out through the entire building... I just hate sounds in an abandoned building!
