ortland, Ore.—More than half of the anti-Trump protesters arrested in Portland didn’t vote, according to state election records. At least seventy demonstrators either didn’t turn in a ballot or weren’t registered to vote.
http://www.kgw.com/news/local/more-than-half-of-arrested-anti-trump-protesters-didnt-vote/351964445
Well that's dumb. Although 70 people wouldn't change anything.
This just makes that paid protestor theory more likely.
No it does not, stop it.
This just makes that paid protestor theory more likely.
They're also polluting social media with misinformation. You know you dun goofed when BuzzFeed -of all sites- debunks a pic.

i live in oregon and i didnt vote because its 100% likely the electoral vote is going democrat.
Well that's dumb. Although 70 people wouldn't change anything. No it does not, stop it.
It's not even a theory at this point lol, pull your head out of the sand.
protesters arrested in Portland 112 arrested
this feels pretty important to the title and thread content for a bit more context on the sample isn't portland known for a dense population of bullshit hipsters? and beyond that I wonder how many were too young to vote, and the aforementioned fact that it was a guarantee* the state would go blue and a lot of people would have rather abstained from voting for either themselves (*which likely sabotaged the voter turnout of a number of states who just barely fell into the red) It'd be hilarious to hear if any of them actually voted for trump (I know I know, ~paid protester~ garbage theory time, but some people just want a reason to fuck shit up and make others look bad) but I'd assume that's not info they can release

Venezuela flag bandana aside, the landscape doesn't even look like any american city.
No it does not, stop it.
I wish I could be this naïve, I must try it sometime.
Who the fuck is retarded enough to fall for the tweet on the left? You don't have to be a Hillary voter to have a problem with Trump, come on.
If some of my facebook friends are any indication, it's because they don't believe in the system. They didn't want to take part in what they see as a rigged system that gives them the illusion of choice and oppresses people. I can see why they wouldn't want to waste their time voting since they believe that but I think that voter apathy is what lead to us having to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich
Who the fuck is retarded enough to fall for the tweet on the left? They want democracy, the anti-Trump protesters are going around denouncing it, when Trump won fair and square.
Who the fuck is retarded enough to fall for the tweet on the left? Venezuela flag bandana aside, the landscape doesn't even look like any american city.
2263 retweets is the right amount.
I wish I could be this naïve, I must try it sometime.
It's way better than being gullible.
Moreover, it's insulting to Venezuelans. the kind of people who complain about results despite not even contributing are the worst kind of people in my opinion

It's like, you sit out and refuse to make your voice heard in the one situation where people are basically begging you to be vocal about your politics and make a difference, then when you lose you take to the streets and cry "but why? How? How did the political establishment not read my mind and determine that my candidate deserved to win??"
Moreover, it's insulting to Venezuelans. Also there have been trump protests in Canada so clearly people can still be invested in the election even if they did not vote. Unless you're telling me George Soros has his claws in Canada too.

Then again, I've been sticking to the videos and proper photos from the news showing the thousands upon thousands of people in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. marching and protesting. That's fucking pathetic. The bandana that guy is wearing gives it away immediately.
This is only 112 people, and out of those 112, only 35 and MAYBE 17 didn't vote.
Records show 35 of the protesters arrested didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election. Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote. Twenty-five protesters who were arrested did vote. KGW is still working to verify voting records for the remaining 17 protesters who were arrested. what an awful title

It's probably because the recent failure of the Occupy Wall Street movement that they don't think they're being listened to but OWS failed because it had no leadership and poor organization. The thing is, those types of movements can work and have worked in the recent past but people born after 1980 don't know about the ACT UP movement and how their non-violent protests actually worked because they had leadership and organization.
Moreover, it's insulting to Venezuelans. They want democracy, the anti-Trump protesters are going around denouncing it, when Trump won fair and square.
Strawmanning arguments before they even happen. This isn't protecting democracy. If Trump got more than half the vote, and more than the electoral college vote, then please by all means peddle your agenda
ortland, Ore.
Looks like Portland lost its P because of these protests.
isn't portland known for a dense population of bullshit hipsters? and beyond that I wonder how many were too young to vote, and the aforementioned fact that it was a guarantee* the state would go blue and a lot of people would have rather abstained from voting for either themselves (*which likely sabotaged the voter turnout of a number of states who just barely fell into the red)
Oregon has consistently voted Democrat since the year I was born (1988) and seems quite unlikely to change any time soon. We're liberal enough, at least here in Portland, that in my experience even a lot of our Republicans are at least socially liberal people.

You ought to talk to a Venezuelan refugee for a change, before assuming I'm insinuating anything but what I've said. [editline]15th November 2016[/editline] And please, spare me the electoral college drivel - whether you like it or not, it's still democratic, which is why I was upset at the fake pic using a Venezuela protest in which they are begging for any kind of democracy.
No one is paddling any agenda, friend. You ought to talk to a Venezuelan refugee for a change, before assuming I'm insinuating anything but what I've said.
Venezuelan is something else, and is completely irrelevant to the discussion of this election. It's the equivalent of saying "THERE ARE STARVING CHILDREN IN AFRICA" when someone complain about the quality of the food you're being served.
And please, spare me the electoral college drivel - whether you like it or not, it's still democratic, which is why I was upset at the fake pic using a Venezuela protest in which they are begging for any kind of democracy.
Tell me friend, how is it democratic that an Alaskan's vote weighs 3 times more than a Californian's vote?
Tell me friend, how is it democratic that an Alaskan's vote weighs 3 times more than a Californian's vote?
Probably because that's a protection against tyranny of the majority.
Oh, okay then..
Are they locking to their own cars? I would be beyond pissed if someone locked themselves to my vehicle.
