Harry Reid on Trump's Cabinet picks: 'Quite frankly, scary'
utgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid says he finds President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet lineup "scary."
"We can go through the list of people he's already chosen and it's, quite frankly, scary," Reid told David Axelrod on "The Axe Files" podcast, produced by the University of Chicago Institute of Politics and CNN.
Reid, who retires this week after 34 years in Congress, expressed concern about Trump's Cabinet so far: that Betsy DeVos, Trump's choice for education secretary, hasn't had any personal experience with public education; that Tom Price, his nominee for Health and Human Services, "has avowed to privatize Medicare and wants to do away with Planned Parenthood;" and that "you have what looks like some kind of an auction going on for secretary of state; I don't quite get that."
This just in, Democrats think Trump's picks are bad.
He's not wrong. Most of these Cabinet picks either don't make any sense or are frankly threatening.

Well when you have pro wall street and anti-climate change cabinet members in. Well...
This just in, Democrats think Trump's picks are bad.
Objectively, they are bad picks. Look at all the economists (including eight Nobel laureates) who have warned about him and his policies/picks. Look at all the scientists who have come out against him with regards to his stances on the environment and climate change and the people he's appointing to oversee these issues. Etc.
Or should we just ignore all this (and also start ignoring reality in general while we're at it)?
This just in, Democrats think Trump's picks are bad.
That's because they are objectively bad?
I mean really, it's not impossible to be a reasonable conservative. But the people he nominates really aren't it
I'm kinda torn on this whole ordeal.
His picks on the military/defense side of things are fucking phenomenal, which is great for me, but the rest of these are kind of perplexing. The whole climate change thing is just baffling, even if I didn't agree that it was occurring, I'd still go "yeah let's just do stuff that puts out less greenhouse gases just in case because why not." Even unleashing coal/oil and also funding improvement of renewable power sources would have been better than he's doing.
There are experts in these fields that aren't politically inclined/motivated and I don't know why he hasn't sought them out if his goal was really to "drain the swamp." He can try and justify his actions with these wall street picks by going "Oh they know all about the corruption so they're the best picks to find a way to stop it," but I don't believe that these kind of self-centered people are going to act against their own self-interests to do things like that, which has been the problem in Washington for a long time.
It's just going to be the same we've always gotten, and I supported Trump over any other candidate (at least after Rubio dropped out).
To be honest it's gonna be worse in many ways, primarily in our climate.
4 years of slashing regulations will put us so far beyond the point of no return that it might be impossible to stop the planet from becoming uninhabitable for the majority of all humans.

but dude they're tired of experts
-blatant misunderstanding-
-^All is forgiven, my son-
but dude they're tired of experts
I'm sick of my mechanic fixing my car for me when there's a problem and telling me how to care for it. Or my doctor telling me I'm sick and need to take an antibiotic regimen instead of resorting to holistic bullshit. And all these economists and environmental scientists warning about impending economic collapse and climate change. Who the hell do these people think they are?:v:
This is the kind of shit that's really tearing our country apart
It's ok to disagree with and criticize conservative policies but this is just plain ridiculous. Just as counterproductive as Alex Jones types screaming "hurr butthurt liberals"
Eh not really, that's not the kind of shit that's tearing your country apart, the kind of shit that's tearing America apart is it's us vs them mentality, both sides push it, but from what I've seen over the years the Republicans are far BETTER at pushing it than the Democrats, though I'll admit the Democrats did a good job with Hilary's "I have a vagina, if you don't vote for me you are a sexist pig" campaign.
Your two party system refuses to make compromises, or work things out together, it's like a political warzone over there, that's what's tearing you guys apart.
Well when you have pro wall street and anti-climate change cabinet members in. Well...
Was anybody expecting anything else with a republican president-elect?
I mean really, it's not impossible to be a reasonable conservative. But the people he nominates really aren't it
True, but completely irrelevant. The Republican Party has become a dangerous, radical organization that has next to nothing to do with conservatism.
This just in, Democrats think Trump's picks are bad.
theres bad as in politically and bad as in the labor secretary has been sued in several class action suits for abusing labor laws as well as summarily reclassifying employees to drop their wages and overtime as well as labor protections.
I don't understand. He's saying it's NOT impossible to be a reasonable conservative. It's a double negative, meaning it is possible to be a reasonable conservative.
I'm a dumbass, forgive me
Can we preemptively impeach this entire administration
I honestly hope that the electors refuse to vote for Trump since that would prevent the coming disaster of his presidency and also get enough of the population riled up to reform the election system

this is an extremely america-centric statement, the rest of the world is getting much much better at being eco friendly
Calling it scary would be putting light and mildly.
Downright apocalyptic is more apt, in my opinion.
