• Spending a Week in Breckenridge, Colorado

I thought I'd share my adventure with my fellow FP'ers. I'm here for a week my with family and some family friends right now, and it's kickass. We came down to ski here, we've gone every winter either to Colorado or Duluth, MN. This is my second winter in Colorado. The cabin that we rented is more like a house. It's got 4 stories, an outdoor jacuzzi, an HD TV, and a ping pong table. I'll post more pictures of the house later this week. Just keep in mind that the video footage does no justice to the speed or the steepness of the slope. Obviously these pictures were taking on different days due to the changing weather. Anyone else here ski or snowboard (and for how long), and anyone ever been to Colorado or any other interesting place for skiing or snowboarding?
You're going to Estate for vacation? wat?
Looks badass. I fucking hate living in Florida.
Man, I live in Colorado :smug:
That looks like a nice place. Give it to Canada.
You should try going to Vail or Keystone. Both good places, but Keystone is pretty expensive. Something around 70 bucks for a day pass. Just don't come down to the Denver neighborhood area, Aurora, or Commerce City. People that live in Colorado know what I mean.
No snow where i live :(
jealous Floridians post here

You can legally carry up to an ounce of cannabis there.
You can legally carry up to an ounce of cannabis there.
Not until January.

I went there 4 years in a row, not counting this year, and I'm going next year. I didn't go this year because of the fucking recession...
I've skiid for two years, I fucking love it.
I've skiid for two years, I fucking love it.
Skied.
Skiing is awesome. It's pretty easy to get into, but I heard snowboarding was the harder one.
Skiing is awesome. It's pretty easy to get into, but I heard snowboarding was the harder one.
At least snowboarding keeps your legs in one spot, which protects your testicles from impacts.
Dang, nice mountain house thing. I'm probably going up to my cabin in Grand Lake the day after Christmas to snowboard. I love Colorado.
Dang, nice mountain house thing.
I actually thought it was the chalet at first.
Snowboarding is bomb. But it's all I know, I gave skiing a shot when I was 6, the next year it was snowboarding...and that's how it been ever since. It's a great activity, only flaw is that you follow the board if you fall, so don't waste your energy trying to stop yourself.
Skiing is awesome. It's pretty easy to get into, but I heard snowboarding was the harder one.
In my opinion I disagree, but of course you'll hear a different story from every person. I've been skiing for all of my life and I decided to give snowboarding a try one day. I looked up some youtube clips of how to snowboard on youtube and I got the jist of the techniques. and then rented a snowboard for a day. I didn't have any problems, and I could easily control my snowboard and handle a blue run. In my opinion skiing is harder because you have to worry about 2 boards instead of one. You constantly have to worry about keeping them parallel and as close together as possible (yeah anyone can ski with their skis far apart and doing the "pizza" to break, but that's not what I'm talking about). Especially when you go off a jump, your two legs feel as if they have two brick weights attached to them, keeping them perfectly parallel in mid-air takes some skill. The biggest thing I have against snowboards is the pop-culture of it. I hate the fact that most teen & young-adults treat snowboarding as if it were a fashion show. And I cannot stand when snowboarders just decided to sit on their ass in the middle of a hill or right off the exit of a lift, so annoying.
Been there many, many times. Do enjoy. It's a nice little town, with CRAZY fucking traffic during ski season.
