Hello all. I love the style of text seen in these new Ford commercials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqoHrzuut70 And in the CoD:WaW mission intros: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FedjyZ1Tlc4&feature=related My question is, does this style have a name, or any kind of label or tag i could google to learn more about how to create it? The way the words flow through each other and stack up against one another is really what i'm going for the most. (sorry the videos are links. I'm new here and haven't looked up embedding yet)
Check here That's the site i always visit for fonts.
I love dafont, but i'm looking more into the way the text is presented. Not so much the actual font it's presented in

I'm not sure, but that kind of stuff is mostly made in after effects, correct me if i'm wrong. videocopilot might have something on it, check their site.
Cool. thanks mate.
The ford one looks like a thinner Impact font with an inner shadow or inner glow added to it. I'm not sure about the call of duty one though. Just search for thick serif fonts.
I think it's called Typography, but I'm not 100% sure..
I think it's called Typography, but I'm not 100% sure..
Anything with text is typography really. Typography is how all of the text is arranged. How far apart the letters are, the font, and everything else. As to answer the OPs question: No. Not really anyway, they have simply arranged the text in such a way that it is visually pleasing. How can you do it? Well, uh, you just DO it.. Just fiddle with it till it looks nice. You don't really need a tutorial to figure out how to move text around, do you?

It was this but it's not a tutorial..
It's called "Kinetic Typography". And it's getting rather old and gimmicky if you ask me. Still could be fun for practice though. Also, that ford commercial was absolutely, positively :downs: [editline]08:10PM[/editline] [editline]08:12PM[/editline]
