Hello! I'm Kit Harrison, and this is the eleventh episode of The Pixel Show, without doubt YouTube's favourite fez-based gaming show! Don't forget to subscribe! At around 1:00 you spit...a lot. Also pretty cool show.
At around 1:00 you spit...a lot. Also pretty cool show.
Thank you very much for your comment. I apologise if that actually happened, though on my end it's difficult to see if it's not just the light reflecting off the dust in my room (I live in the countryside, so a lot of dust tends to be milling about in the air, and the camera picks up on this throughout the video).
Don't you think that if Issac's suit could survive the extreme, almost instant freezing conditions of space, it could survive a snowy planet?
Fez looks too small for your head. Where did you bought it?
Don't you think that if Issac's suit could survive the extreme, almost instant freezing conditions of space, it could survive a snowy planet?
You raise an interesting point; however, the idea that being in space will freeze you instantly is a myth, and it is highly likely that the snowy planet would be much colder than space. To quote the page: "The crew of the Apollo 13 had to shut down the heating system to conserve power after an explosion crippled their ship. After three days, the astronauts reported near-freezing temperatures in the Lunar Module and even condensation and ice forming on the interior." Considering the "hard sci-fi" angle Dead Space takes (and that Isaac never spends so long exposed to the vacuum in either of the previous two games) it is highly likely that the snowy planet might be more than Isaac's suit can handle and temperature management will be a factor. Alternatively: Isaac's suit only has a very short oxygen supply; what's not to say that he has limited energy for his suit's heaters, or that the story of DS3 has him lose them by some means at the start of the game?
Fez looks too small for your head. Where did you bought it?
It's actually from Turkey. Ironically, I may have to buy a bigger one in a fancy dress shop/wherever one buys them in Britain because this authentic one keeps slipping off my buggering head.
That was well good, you raise some good points especially the RAGE. Although i cant wait for the game I am not looking forward to the hard drive space being fucked out my xbox

Although i cant wait for the game I am not looking forward to the hard drive space being fucked out my xbox
Like I say in the episode, you're not required to install all 12GB to your Xbox, whereas PS3 users have to install their 8GB. How much it will actually affect the loading times remains to be seen; in practice I've never seen a noticeable improvement (and generally it seems to make a game's loading and streaming abilities worse).

I'd like to see the suit get caked with ice and snow though.

My reasoning at the time of recording (because I do the show unscripted and there was no time to do such discussion inside my head) was that the developers will have written it in to impact gaameplay. I doubt Razorhail would have been added to the backstory of Gears of War 2 if it hadn't created a unique mechanic in its level. Similarly, if Visceral wanted there to be a snow planet, then the location would manifest itself through gameplay with unique elements like heat management.
would be pretty boss to be running around gaining ice, then getting hit and seeing it all shatter off. :v:
Indeed. Or perhaps getting covered in snow and ice would interfere with your weaponry; affecting the ability to reload weapons because the spare ammo is frozen to your side and adding an animation of Isaac breaking it off.

It was good fun, but way too "Oh, nice, another monster spawn" this is a MASSIVE issue with many horror games, at least in second runs. If gameplay is truly dynamic and changes constantly, every run, it makes it very thrilling. its one of the reasons L4D is such a success IMHO, where every run, even with the same player(S) is always different in some ways.
A good way to get a overly huge amount of ice off you would just be to stomp. Makes sense without having to add in an extra button combo.
Having the necromorphs bust out of piles of snow trying to kill you would work.
Admittedly, that would lead to some rather awkward sequences where you survey a landscape and see a practical village of chest-high piles of snow.
Admittedly, that would lead to some rather awkward sequences where you survey a landscape and see a practical village of chest-high piles of snow.
Not really, just keep the snow tall enough to cover them and flattish to make it unpredictable. It wouldn't take a very thick layer of snow to cover a laying corpse.

I have a thing for horror games where you have to combat opponents while trying to figure something out and get around something, challenging the mind every turn, then having a break to explore, it makes for a great game. What I dream of though is a game with a ton of puzzles and mini-games in it that challenge the mind, and a lot of dynamically spawning opponents, in a large area like a town. Also, knowing DS's devs, they'd mess the piles up, use a certain model, ruin it a little. You aren't supposed to know whats going to happen, ever. Horror is about shock, surprise, and tight, uncomfortable spots.

Especially in a house or cave where you could potentially use the environment. I would love to shoot parts of a cave off to hit zombies, rather than simply shooting them, or killing them with a toaster in a puddle. It would be so satisfying.

There's even an "awesome button" that makes everything you might want to do that much more awesome! [editline]27th September 2011[/editline] So what did you guys like about the episode? Do I have to buy them in packs of 24 though? I mean, I love fezzes, but £144 worth of fezzes is perhaps a little much. Perhaps I'll put a weight in Fez Mk. I so it stays on my head. Anyway, for those who follow what I do, you'll be pleased to know I am no longer barred from being a YouTube Partner, because EMI very kindly withdrew their copyright claim against Episode 2. With only one copyright strike, it's no longer impossible for me to become a Partner should I apply again (though I don't think I have anywhere near the views and subscribers to deserve it yet). Do you think I deserve more views and subscribers? Tell your mates, mates!
