Sarah Palin's daughter trying to patch things up with her ex before the election
It seems Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are working things out.
The former teen lovers, who were briefly engaged, are trying to improve their relationship, says Johnston's manager, Tank Jones.
But don't expect a rekindled romance.
Jones added that both Palin and Johnston have no plans of getting back together.
The two were thrown into the national spotlight throughout Sarah Palin's 2008 campaign for vice president, and became the poster children for teenage pregnancy.
Since giving birth to Tripp in December 2008, Palin and Johnston parted ways and have been to court over child support.
The most recent court ruling in February ordered the baby daddy to cough up $1,750 a month to Palin's eldest daughter.
While Johnston said shortly after the ruling that he wanted to try to convince the courts to reduce payments, Tripp seemed to be a factor in bringing them back together.
Palin family attorney Thomas Van Flein said the two have a "joint interest" in raising their son in a positive environment, and want to take the necessary steps in doing what serves his best interests.

"Before the election"
Palin is running for election somewhere? I thought she was sticking to being a spokeswoman?

It's pretty much a given she's going to run for president in 2012. It's just a matter of when she's going to announce it, so she's trying to tie up a few loose ends.
Oh god.
i hope that palin doesn't become prez holy shit that would be maddening
They named the kid Tripp?
oh my Satan..

It's more likely than you think.
I don't like this. I'm not big on Sarah Palin but the media should stay out of her family's personal life.
No one except tea partiers like her really. My dads super republican and he thinks she's an idiot.

This whole thing is a publicity stunt though. She's just trying to appease the family values voters before she decides to become president.

It says that her daughter is trying to patch up things. Although it could be suspected that Sarah Palin is trying to do it, it doesn't say anywhere that she's directing it. Thus, given that there isn't any evidence that SP her self is directly trying to patch things up, you can't assume it's her.
Lol, if palin became prez then I'd move out of America. not because of our administration but because we have people who would actually vote for Palin. If most of the population wants Palin as a president then this is not the country I want to live in.

True, but in the article it say specifically that they're not trying to get back together. Which means this is purely either politically or financially motivated. Seeing as how Palin makes over $100,000 for every speech she gives I don't think she or her daughter has to worry about money now.
She needs to shutup. She already looks dumb enough as it is.

She is an idiot. When Sarah Palin talks, it's like a very poorly done ad lib.
Well questioner's name,
You have to remember that talking point is all about talking point and if we don't stop terrorist then talking point will be on our doorstep dontcha know with talking point that the Hollywood liberals/Commies/Marxists in the media don't want to talk about and I always say previously unsaid talking point so talking point maverick...

It could be a matter of principle. I have a friend who's in a somewhat similar situation, and her parents are very well off. But she's still petitioning the courts for the father of her son to pay child support. It's just the fact that it doesn't really say why they're doing it clearly, so it can't be assumed to why with out any hard facts.

It could be, but the timing of this leads me to believe it's politically motivated. First she gives up her governership, then she starts making campaign stops and rallies, then she starts publicly criticizing Obama, and now this. Maybe it's just my bias, but this seems like a politically motivated action to try to appease the family values voters on the right.

I just think it's early, that's all. It's "before the presidential election", yes, but two years? A bit early in my opinion. Usually the media only harps on the past month, but I guess it could be seen as "get rid of it now instead of later".

Easier to patch things up now before she makes the announcement. By the time presidential announcements start being made, none of the media will remember this.

Well as TH89 stated before, her family life shouldn't really be eyed up by the media in the first place.
Does anyone know a politician that was elected completely on their political views, the only things that actually matters, instead of something else, even partially?
They used to do that in the 1800s...what happened to those days...
:10bux: sarah palin had something to do with this

Being her mother alone, I'm sure she's trying to make the best for her daughter and to encourage her to seek a peaceful solution for the whole issue.
Of course she probably had something to do with it.
It's the motive that everyone is questioning.
