A flea circus in Germany has been scrambling to replace its performers after the entire troupe was wiped out by this spring's freezing weather. Circus director Robert Birk told the BBC he found some 300 fleas dead inside their transport box last week. It was the first time the cold had killed a whole troupe in one go. A university insect expert, Professor Heinz Mehlhorn, managed to provide 60 replacement fleas in time for a performance at an open-air fair. Mr Birk said it had been a "very difficult moment" when he discovered that the tiny circus stars had died. "It's hard to know when minus temperatures will be fatal for them," he told the BBC.
Sauce: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21991622
How dare I assume that 300 Humans died. That title is pretty crafty.
im still wondering how the fuck do they train insects to perform these complex shit
I was just reading in the local paper an article about how some lady had gotten fleas (not a lot happens around here you see) so when I saw the title I actually assumed it was a flea circus. :v:
Three hundred-hundred!? Damn, that's thirty-thousand performers
Damn you...
Without a source I assume April Fools joke

Pretty fucked up that people are rating this funny. Personally I think there should be more government oversight for these kinds of events. Fleas are people too.
my heart skipped a beat when i thought 300 was in human lives.
I got the creepiest vibe from reading the thread title. Fuck you OP
Pretty fucked up that people are rating this funny. Personally I think there should be more government oversight for these kinds of events. Fleas are people too.
we should have dealt with the nazflea threat before it came to this
Without a source I assume April Fools joke
No shit, Captain Obvious.
No shit, Captain Obvious.
What?
Reading that title made my skin itch.
What?
Flea circuses don't have actual fleas in them. They use magnets and strings and shit. It's a form of magician trick.
Flea circuses don't have actual fleas in them. They use magnets and strings and shit. It's a form of magician trick.
I didn't know that, hell, I didn't even know they existed till about 2 hours ago. Well now I know
Flea circuses don't have actual fleas in them. They use magnets and strings and shit. It's a form of magician trick.
Uhm, no they don't. They glue the feet of the fleas to instruments and the floor, then they heat the floor so the fleas start moving.
When I read the thread title I pictured hundreds of clowns and circus animals in a tent that just dropped dead all of a sudden.
You're all correct. There's a multitude of different ways that flea circuses can work. Some use actual fleas, some don't.
300 hundred dead. RIP in peace.
I fell for the clever title. gg
im still wondering how the fuck do they train insects to perform these complex shit
they heat up the ground under them and the pain of it makes them jump about, they also glue their arms to things to make it look like they're carrying it
Dat fucking title.
