This made me laugh so much, Blizzards reply to his offer:
Proving itself even more worthy of adoration, developer Blizzard has rejected an offer that would have seen reviled director Uwe Boll working on a World of Warcraft film.
"I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard [about a World of Warcraft film] and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you...especially not to you,'" Boll informed MTV News.
"Because it's such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income."
The director of such game-to-film adaptations as Far Cry, BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, Postal, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale and House of the Dead also spoke on the importance of ignoring a game's core fanbase.
"To be honest, the real gamers are the typical download guys, right?" Boll reasoned. "They don't pay anything for movies, because they illegally download the movies. So why [should I] please these guys? I need the normal audience."
"not to you, especially not to you" :v:
Uwe Boll's movies are so bad, i'm glad Blizzard totally dis-regarded him.
(by the way this might be late, i only just found it)
Hahaha, oh Blizzard.
Uwe Boll must be feeling like shit right now........now that he realises what a lump of fail he is :]
Hahah, I laughed at this
"To be honest, the real gamers are the typical download guys, right?" Boll reasoned. "They don't pay anything for movies, because they illegally download the movies. So why [should I] please these guys? I need the normal audience."
Go fuck your self, Uwe Boll :cawg:

Something tells me he still doesn't realize this yet.
"I need the normal audience."
have "normal" people ever enjoyed his movies????
That was 2008, FYI.
That was 2008, FYI.
I was about to say that.
He sounds butthurt.
Real gamers are typical download guys? Fuck you, Boll.
Real gamers are typical download guys? Fuck you, Boll.
lol nice one
"Real gamers are typical download guys" kinda contradicts what he's been doing. He said he makes video game movies because it already has a built-in audience ready for them, but if now he's saying that the audience isn't the type he's interested in, then why is he even making video game movies to begin with?
and in case anyone doesn't know, the warcraft movie is being done by Sam Raimi, the guy that did spider man and evil dead.
and in case anyone doesn't know, the warcraft movie is being done by Sam Raimi, the guy that did spider man and evil dead.
And there was much rejoicing.
i don't expect much from this movie
I honestly can't wait for the Warcraft movie, fuuuck, I wouldn't mind acting in it. :v:
Oh uwe boll, you so crazy.
i don't expect much from this movie
What are you talking about the CGI events in all the games were damn awesome and blizzard have direct influence on what is being made, it should no doubt be very very good. They have a massive budget too.
A Warcraft movie better be on par graphically with Avatar. If it's not then I honestly don't see what the attraction could be.
What are you talking about the CGI events in all the games were damn awesome
I hope you're talking about the pre-rendered cutscenes in SC/WC3/WoW and not the god-awfully ugly in-game cinematics in WoW that Blizzard seems to have a hardon for lately.
More ontopic, with the amount of money and manpower Blizzard has at their disposal (enough to do anything they want) the movie better be very very good.

Yeah the rendered cut-scenes! They were awesome.
Warcraft has more than enough lore and everything to make a great movie. Let's hope this is done right.
I admire his guts, and the way he has a self-admiring ignorance, but nothing more.
I like Uwe, his movies are awful yes (except Postal), but as person I like him.
I'm more exicted for the Ultramarines movie, but this still might be good.

Yes, punching his critics in the fucking face. Class act.
Jason Statham would be fitting for a role in this movie. So would Viggo Mortensen, Ian MacKellen and the whole cast from LOTR really.
Uwe Boll is just one big real life troll.
Let James Cameron do it.
This news was two years ago
Let him do it, it'd be hilarious to see the 14 or so million World of Warcraft fans just explode in rage.
