Isn't this the guy who is like super down to earth?
This was surprisingly calming/reassuring.
spent a good two hours arguing with the coworker attached to my desk over the fact ebola isn't an airborn ninja flu virus transmitted practically through eye contact across the room, I'm really glad to hear this coming out of this of all news sources
the ending perfectly summarized EVERYTHING about stuff like this
spent a good two hours arguing with the coworker attached to my desk over the fact ebola isn't an airborn ninja flu virus transmitted practically through eye contact across the room, I'm really glad to hear this coming out of this of all news sources
Hate people like that HIV was supposedly "Going to become airborne" and "Kill MILLIONS" according to a certain number of stupid people
Isn't this the guy who is like super down to earth?
Yep. Usually when people talk about crazy bias in fox news they're talking about sean hannity or bill o'reilly.
Yep. Usually when people talk about crazy bias in fox news they're talking about sean hannity or bill o'reilly.
Ironically guess what two people make up the vast majority of Fox air time? Those crazy bias people.
That was brilliant.
All I can say is: Sensationalism.
I like how he says the flu will more likely kill you than Ebola.
Statistically it is, 50K die from the flu in the US every single year. There's been less than 10K deaths from Ebola ever since it was identified as a disease. The difference is that millions of people get the flu every year vs a few hundred every 5-10 years(except for this recent outbreak) for Ebola.
Wasn't he reporting the car chase suicide thing? That was pretty crazy and he apologized. He seems like a good guy.
more of him. pls.
I only wish it was true, but unfortunately it is not true. I truly wish it was. I've researched this myself, and believe me, while I understand the reasoning and I do actually believe this Anchor believe what he says. Unfortunately it is not the whole story. My best guess is that they are trying to avoid panic. CDC quote:
Casual contact is defined as a) being within approximately 3 feet (1 meter) or within the room or care area for a prolonged period of time (e.g., healthcare personnel, household members) while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations); or b) having direct brief contact (e.g., shaking hands) with an EVD case while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations). If you don't believe me, at least listen to the scientists. Full story and sources available here [editline]24th October 2014[/editline]
spent a good two hours arguing with the coworker attached to my desk over the fact ebola isn't an airborn ninja flu virus transmitted practically through eye contact across the room, I'm really glad to hear this coming out of this of all news sources
In that case is the CDC lying? Althouh they are trying to hide and move around the following footnote:
Casual contact is defined as a) being within approximately 3 feet (1 meter) or within the room or care area for a prolonged period of time (e.g., healthcare personnel, household members) while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations); or b) having direct brief contact (e.g., shaking hands) with an EVD case while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., droplet and contact precautions–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations).
Actually now they changed it from Casual to Close contact. Ebola IS NOT airborne, the common cold and a flu IS NOT AIRBORNE. But it CAN transmit trough the air via tiny droplets. You know like the common cold and flu can............ That said, the patient would have to have strong symptoms for that to happen. At those stages EBOLA is VERY contagious. As seen from the 2012 clinical study on ebola. Full story with sources here

You acknowledged that ebola is only really contagious when symptoms start showing. By that time, you're going to be isolated or receiving treatment. The only point you seemed to make is that it is contagious upon symptoms showing, and through the same means that shit like the flu is contagious. How is that trying to avoid panic? What he said was true. Further, the number of cases of ebola within the general population has been basically nil outside of the healthcare sect.
he is so calm that, now i started panicking.
Wasn't he reporting the car chase suicide thing? That was pretty crazy and he apologized. And I closed another thread 6 days ago just like this one in SH.
