• Gahh! Acne, It FUCKING Sucks

I hate acne so much. It used to not be so bad, but lately... It's gotten pretty bad. I do keep up on showers(Once, if not twice a day). But, it doesn't help. To top it all off, I have recently grown out my hair. And now, I have a fucking pimple on the back of my head. It sucks, and there is no way to get rid of it. So, I was curious what FacePunch uses to clear up their Acne. I have tried the Avon stuff, but it doesn't work. My hands break out in blisters. I have heard that Clearasil works, but, thats from the celebrities. Also, if you have any way of getting rid of pimples off your scalp, it'd be helpful. Thanks :D TL;DR How do you get rid of your acne (Products, home remedies, dermatologist) Also, I live in Phoenix, Arizona. If that helps any sorts... And... Do you think Marijuana causes more acne, or no?
I wash my face everyday. And use Scrub. :/
I've never had acne when I was a teenager; I had a pretty face. _ LOL at the disagrees, a bit jelous you socially inept nerds?
And a clean face usually doesn't get acne. Try showering, with soap.

I used to have pretty bad acne, but I endured about 2 years of an Accutane prescription and now I've got perfectly clear skin. My last dosage was ~8 months ago.
And a clean face usually doesn't get acne. Try showering, with soap.
What kind of soap is best (Bar, Gel) I prefer gel, but it seems bar works better.
http://www.acne.org/ Problem solved.
I've got one word for you, OP. Proactiv! It's invariably effective for anyone willing try it. Just order some, and use it every day. If you stop using it, the acne comes back in about 2 or 3 days.
Acne begins to form when pores get clogged with a "plug" of keratin and sebum. Salicylic acid loosens the plug by softening the keratin.
What kind of soap is best (Bar, Gel) I prefer gel, but it seems bar works better.
Try this. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=apricot+scrub
Don't you get acne by touching you face to much or something?
I've got one word for you, OP. Proactiv!
Is this from past experience?
Don't you get acne by touching you face to much or something?
it contributes [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline]
Is this from past experience?
waste of money

Acne = A bunch of dead white blood cells clogging up a hair follicle or something. Just wash it with warm water, not with your hands, though. It'll clear up (hopefully)
Is this from past experience?
Yes, and I still use it to this day.
Ya I hear ya bro, I got it too. I'm also just as lost and confused.
Apricot scrub your face when you wake up and before you go to bed, then have a towel on your pillow, you'll clear up in like a week or 2.

This is what I recommend - I've been to a GP, and this is what I got, and it has worked. Firstly, use a Cetaphil (there's soft and oily, I use the latter) skin cleaning product, and Cetaphil moisturizer, every morning and night. This is just standard pharmacy stuff, but it really works, unlike the gimmicky Proactiv. Then, use something more specific and powerful; might need to see a GP about that. E: Currently using "Epiduo" as a specialised anti-acne cream.
Oxy products help. A lot.
Put a clean shirt or towel (or something) on your pillow before you go to bed, because your pillow is usually pretty dirty.
Well, you're the first I've heard say that. I'm not even joking. E: I have no idea if dope does your skin in but regardless DON'T DO DRUGS KIDS.
I've never really had acne. Mayby it's because I shower twice a day and rarely eat chocolate. But then again, I'm also fat so I definately haven't been eating healthy.
Maybe I'm just unlucky; I used 4 Proactiv products for two or three months, and my skin got worse, if anything.
Did you happen to overuse it? Did you do something different? Not change your pillowcases and what not?
Did you happen to overuse it? Did you do something different? Not change your pillowcases and what not?
I did everything as directed by the woman who sold me it, and the labels. Shit all happened. My pillowcases weren't really an issue - no idea what you guys live in, but I try to keep my sheets clean. Regardless, I'm adamant that you can have much more success using cheaper, less advertised products. I suppose what I can really recommend is that if it's biting you so much, go see your GP.
Stop drinking milk or consuming dairy products. They contain hormones that will spike your oil production in skin, leading to even more acne. Change out your pillow case and bedsheets often, I found this helped. Use a facial scrub in a shower (the one with tiny micro rocks that scrub all the shit off) and then disinfect your face with alcohol afterwards, and then apply a moisturizer (I use Complex 15). Stop touching your face. Use a sulfur mask on your face often, about twice a week. I found this helped in killing big pimples. I have been doing all this for about a year now and my acne has cleared up a lot, and I actually look like a decent person now, versus the greasy acne faced nerd that looked so disgusting you would want to throw up at the site of seeing them. [editline]22nd November 2010[/editline] Also, stress and anxiety will also contribute to more acne due to an increase in hormones, so try and be less stressed as possible.
