The pontiff later drove it. Known for his humble lifestyle, Francis said he used to drive the same car in his native Argentina. In a bid to encourage austerity in the Church, the Pope has urged officials to avoid using expensive limousines.

"What better than my old Renault 4?" he asked.
**BEEP BEEP** Swagmaster Francis.
I fuckin' love Renault 4's, only beaten by Fiat 500's.
Pimp my popemobile.
It's great what he's encouraging and going the step further to lead by example.
Pope Francis for President, 2016
Pope Francis for President, 2016
He doesn't even live in America what
I love small cars over huge cars, they are so easier to drive and handle. I always feel like I'm going to hit something in my families sedan but when I drive my Dad's hatchback it just handles better
The BBC's David Willey in Rome says the Pope's bodyguards were amazed when he took the keys and drove off.
what a fucking baller
what a fucking baller
He damn well knows that with his record he has almost no reason to hide behind bulletproof glass. Mind you, I'm trying to imagine stopping at a light and the pope rolls up beside you. :v:
That may very well be the case if you're driving an entire country down your average freeway.
ah fuck
Should've gotten this vehicle.
Mind you, I'm trying to imagine stopping at a light and the pope rolls up beside you. :v:
Challenge him to a dragrace
Challenge him to a dragrace
if he's driving a renault 4 I don't think it would be hard to win
i want to hang out with this dude
The current pope has to be the most popular fascist junta collaborator ever.
if he's driving a renault 4 I don't think it would be hard to win
Yeah, but he's got God on his side, that's borderline cheating
Yeah, but he's got God on his side, that's borderline cheating
He'd just shift into Godspeed.
He'd just shift into Godspeed.
Or just let jesus take the wheel
Or just let jesus take the wheel
He'd just keep it as payment for all the miracles he's done.
Well it's nice to see they did away with this monstrosity.

Welp...guess he's not going very far.
I never did get the idea behind the bulletproof popemobile - surely if he died it would have been god's will?

He always tried to fry someone with those damn bolts.

OH how I hate that car... But good on him, that thing is very cheap.
Man, Pope Francis is awesome. I love some of the messages he's trying to send out to people.
I never did get the idea behind the bulletproof popemobile - surely if he died it would have been god's will?
Providence, providence. And you can see it this way: The popemobile is god's will.
The current pope has to be the most popular fascist junta collaborator ever.
Oh, you too fell for what Verbitsky said?
I guess he realizes that there's no reason anyone would want to kill him, so he's living pretty much like he did before he became pope. That's cool. I just like how he's so humble, doesn't act all full of himself like Popeatine did.
