• Looking for a new ISP, would like some comments on other users current/past ISP experiences

I'm currently getting my broadband provided by orange broadband... And to be honestly they are shockingly bad. They bullshit constantly to try and keep you with them, then don't provide what they say. I live in South Yorkshire, I'm just wondering if anyone has any information on good ISP or could tell me who to avoid? I'm currently looking at BT, Sky broadband, and plusnet. But a lot of the reviews for them seem to be written by morons who have no clue how the Internet works so rate terribly because they bought the wrong package for their needs. Tl;dr - what's your current ISP, where are you located, and would you recommend them to a friend?
Be broadband
BE Broadband, I concur You won't necessarily get faster internet, since it depends so very much on how far you are from the local exchange, and the sort of cabling. But BE will give you the fastest you can get, and they'll tell you what you can expect to get. But they're mostly good because of their customer service, which is excellent. It's based in Latvia or somewhere in Eastern Europe, for reasons. But they speak fantastic English and they're nice and helpful. They're also willing to change very specific things about your internet provision, to optimise it for you - as well as look into common problems like high attentuation on your line. Oh, and the routers they provide are good. Also, it's owned by O2. Which would probably be second on my list - but mostly they seem tiered, really - Sky, O2, BE (and probably some others) are about the same as far as speed and reliability goes. You just need to make sure you avoid the dreadful ones.
Charter is good when its working, it tends to go down a couple times a week but only for a couple minutes each.
