I don't check my email as often as i used to, but i just saw a very strange email caught in the spamfilter. It's a warning not to sell my Wow account. Maybe not so weird but here's the thing:
I [b]don't[/b] own a wow account.
Why the hell would I receive this email? It looks real enough, but i have never owned an account? I've barely played the game at a mate's house!
Sorry if i'm sounding a bit freaked out, but visiting the "Generally creepy stuff" Thread at night does weird things with you
Here's the Email:
Not ready to show my email address on fp, so i'm just gonna edit that

:tinfoil:
If you never had a WoW account, It is obviously spam. I got one like this too, Although I do have an account, not registered with the e-mail I received the message from.
Thanks, had me worried for a second :buddy:
Who would even MAKE this?
Phishers
A LOT of people have WoW accounts, someone may panic and fall for it
You made the thread in the right place. Who would actually post in the actual WoW section?
Also, yes, it's a spam mail.
When you hover over the URLS they probably actually lead to something like usblizzrdcom.tk
Yes, It's spam.
ur a faggot if u didint know it was spam
no this is spam silly

From what I see, this could be completely legit as it's asking for no personal detials, however if the links had a hover over to a site like blizz-admin.co.uk or something of that sort then it's spam.
Yeah. I got this too at about the same time.

Turns out all the links are legit
No professional company will [U]ever[/U] send you an email asking for you to verify your password through email.

Because the OP didn't copy the links with the actual URL tags.

OP I guess this is falling on deaf ears considering you're too stupid to realize it's spam because you don't even HAVE a WoW account, but that line should have tipped you off. Nobody ends a professional business email with "Fare Thee Well"
Anything that asks for personal details is normally bad.
Most likely spam, I got a similar email. If it is something that you still are nervous about, send them an email through their support system, not the links the email provides.
sadly lots of retarded kids fall for these scams and in turn keeps the scammers going
