Nathan the Repo Man, from Repo! The Genetic Opera. Colored (Dark suit makes lines hard to see, unfortunately. Any tips for that?) Was this done in paint?
Holy shit, great work!
Thanks It was done in Photoshop.
The lines is due to you using a brush that has no anti aliasing on it. Use the standard brush and not the pencil brush.
The lines is due to you using a brush that has no anti aliasing on it. Use the standard brush and not the pencil brush.
I've tried the paintbrush. Is it possible I may have disabled anti-aliasing?
I've tried the paintbrush. Is it possible I may have disabled anti-aliasing?
No. Impossible to disable. You're on the pencil tool. You are in photoshop when you draw the outlines right?
No. Impossible to disable. You're on the pencil tool. You are in photoshop when you draw the outlines right?
Yes, I see the difference now, but it's not really what I'm looking for. The paintbrush 1 px brush is pretty much the same from the pencil tool, except blurred. If you've ever used flash, you can see the obvious difference.
That's because flash uses vector and photoshop uses raster. You can work at a high resolution (as you should for any unrestricted art) in photoshop to make pixelation a void issue. [editline]11:09PM[/editline] Right now your resolutions are REALLY low.
i won't sub you.
absolutely no details, no lighting effects. Proportions are missing, anatomy as well. Heart looks more like magic berries and the background red glow is just plain ugly. You shoudn've wasted your money on a tablet. Learn to draw on paper before you even think about getting a tablet. Look up tutorials on everything from drawspace, deviantart etc. You'll find a cure for the jacket thing once you know what you're doing.

Also, "shoudn've" is not a contraction, even if you had spelled it correctly.
Way to be an ass about it. My tablet came the day before I drew those and I had never attempted digital drawing beforehand, so no I don't know what I'm doing yet, but again, you don't have to be an ass about it. Also, "shoudn've" is not a contraction, even if you had spelled it correctly.
He wasn't being an ass, he was giving you constructive criticism. Learn to accept it, this is not A+ work so he's trying to help you. Learn to take CC or stop doing any creative activities. You will be criticized, and not all of it is rainbows and butterflies.
Saying I wasted my money and learn to draw is not constructive.
But it is, SOOOO many people on this forum buy tablets expecting it to make them an awesome digi painter... And your OP shows NO evidence of any traditional art training. Maybe it's not a waste of money in the long run, but for right now it is. cause without a traditional background, digital art will only hamper your progress.
This is scaring me. http://airman182.deviantart.com/art/Doodle-167795353?q=sort:time+gallery:AirMan182&qo=0 Then again I'm not much better at hands. So don't worry about it Barney. :v:
Beware, a tablet in no way makes you a magical artist. In fact, it could make your work look worse since it's hard to adapt your hand-eye co-ordination. Although my tablet work is pretty good, the stuff I draw by hand usually looks better.
Saying I wasted my money and learn to draw is not constructive.
So, you want to draw some figures, showing them off, then expecting they are exceptional artworks because you don't know shit about drawing? That's not how it works. Without any traditional background with any kind of art, you wasted your money, let me say that again, you wasted your money. So here's what you got to do: Learn to draw, draw everything you see, draw it all the time and in every place, get a sketchbook with lots of pages. Put the tablet aside for a while. When you've filled at least one full sketchbook with good quality drawings, move on to digital painting. Use forums like conceptart.org, they have a specific sketchbook forum and they also have lessons. Is that constructive enough for you? If you don't like what I said or find it offensive, just get out because art is not for you if you can't take criticism.
♫Reeepooo-Maaan♪ It's a bit dark, good none the less.
And being older than 12 helps, too.
