I mean, if he was downloading music of, like, Iunno, a list of downloads, and the link for the music was just one or two above the pack of CP, and the cat jumped on the keyboard and hit, like, tab and enter or something, then it would have downloaded. It's not all that unlikely.

What if he clicked on a link to start downloading child porn by accident (could have been one of those "ENLARGE YOUR PENIS TODAY" ads, the download window appeared, then the cat jumped on the keyboard and accidentally pressed enter, starting the download?
The story IS plausible, I mean hell You can contract all sorts of shit from the internet without clicking on any of it, nevermind when some animal presses random keys
If the guy is in his 40's or so, and he has absolutely no prior record of any kind, I'd may even go along with his story
