During his childhood Tien learned Khon, a form of dance which is usually reserved for royalty. Although he didn't know it yet, Khon would later prove to be an invaluable aide to him. After seeing his parents murdered at the tender age of 10, Tien is forced to live on the streets where he is eventually captured by a group of thieves who take him in and teach him how to steal and fight. Tien's expertise as a thief and fighter grows and it isn't long before he is made head thief. Then Tien sees something that makes his stomach churn. A competition is being held to find the best knights to serve under the very man who had killed Tien's parents all those years ago. Tien passes the tests easily and is made Lord Rachasana's 2nd Knight. Now, he has his opportunity to strike but he will have to use all his skill and ingenuity if he is going to get his revenge on the man who killed his parents.
This movie is just awesome, real stunts, nobody leaping halfway across lakes, It's just the best fight movie even in my opinion. Here is a scene from this movie: Man those slow mo kicks are GRUESOME. SEE THIS MOVIE. This is my favorite fight in the movie but some idiot put this music in. Holy fuck i watched the first clip OP posted, awesome. BIG fan of Fearless and Jet Li's Unleashed, so this looks like a must for me. Thanks OP for bringing this movie to my attention, rated useful!
It's not Jet li it's Tony Jaa. My favorite action star now.
It's not Jet li it's Tony Jaa. My favorite action star now.
I know it's not Jet Li, I was implying that it appears to be a similar genre of film (martial arts/fighting/whatever movies).
Oh.
Thought it was gonna be a shitmovie, but that first fight scene actually looks promising, I'll give it a try sometime.
Better than Kung Fu Hustle in the fight department IMO.
Holy jesus, that's fucking epic lol, I've seen the first movie on shrooms, was intense hahah.
The plot wasn't the strongest, but the fights were excellent
[sp]This movie ended with a lousy cliff hanger! The main character get captured in the end after killing his mentor who happens to be the murderer of his father[/sp] There had better be Ong Bak 3 for this.
Ong Bak. Aka: Men getting a jumping knee to the face in Slo-mo
Yeah there is gonna be Ong Bak 3. bong
Nice, loved the first one.
That fight scene looks so so so promising. More of that please!
Ong Bak 1 was sick, imma go get this.
First one was awesome, but when I heard about this one, I thought it couldn't possibly deliver, but Tony Jaa never ceases to amaze.
Oh god Ong Bak 2. I rented this for a guys night with me and a few friends. This was the single most amazing movie we watched that night. We had no idea what was going on but we didn't give a shit because he just defeated an entire village while breakdancing.
My friend told me to watch this movie, I completely forgot until now. My mission this week is to finish watching Ong Bak.
I want to see this now, rent the two for a guys night.
ong bak the first one was better it actually had something to do with ong bak the statue
The first one had a bit of humor and a somewhat coherent plot. The second was totally serious, had superior fight scenes, but the actual plot seems a bit iffy, gonna have to wait for ong bak 3 to make a proper judgement. Overall, the two movies are extremely different, but I like the second better because Tony Jaa is actually unopposed to killing people, so there is heaps of blood.
I wish I could find the scene where tony jaa and his mini army are reclaiming the stolen artifacts in the swamp, that shit was sweet.
IMO Ong Bak 1 was better, probably because I like that it was more modern (time wise). That's why I like the Protector better than Ong Bak 2 as well. Just me though.
