A 1-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head in New York City.
Police say Antiq (an-TEEK') Hennis was being pushed in a stroller by his mother and father while crossing a street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn about 7:20 p.m. Sunday when the shooting occurred. They say multiple shots were fired.
Authorities say the child was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left side of his face but did not survive his injuries. He was declared dead at the hospital.
Police have not made any arrests and haven't released any other preliminary details from their investigation.
This must be extremely painful for the family.
This is a sad day
I don't understand why someone would do something like this, what possible gain could they get out of it?
Wonder if it was an attack directed at them or if they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Source doesn't have much info.

you don't understand it because you aren't "Completely insane"
That's what is simply needed, for one to be "Completely insane"
but, don't quite know the nature of the shot. Run up and fire, fire from a distance, or did they intend to hit someone else? I seriously doubt its anything less than missing its intended target or a misfire. So probably not a case of being completely insane.
No one really intends to kill a baby out of the blue from what I know.
also, really the only real reaction to seeing your kid dying in front of you like that is to IMMEDIATELY FREAK THE FUCK OUT. I can't imagine how terrible that must feel.
Multiple shots fired and the shooters were to far to be seen, it's pretty clear they weren't the intended targets. Probably a gang skirmish or something.
Welp, my day sure is ruined

I'm constantly trying to be progun but I constantly forget crap like this happens and then I end up acting anti gun again. In the end this is just such an INSANELY "State by state" decision.
I wish people would handle their bullshit like human beings and not apes.
Damn, I've read 3 stories of (coincidentally) 1 year olds being shot and killed in the past 2 days alone. That shouldn't happen once, but 3 times? Jesus Christ.
I have no sympathy for Antiq's killer.
Welp, my day sure is ruined
If you're gonna let kids being shot ruin your day, you're gonna have a lot of ruined days.
antiq is a p.cool name tbh

My every day is ruined by something, my friend.
If it isn't kids being shot, it's horrible service at the local restaurant.

Because the two are so comparable.

KDA rate has turned us into monsters :(
if only the baby had a gun this never would've happened

Too bad he can never live up to it now

regardless of whether guns are legal or not criminals will continue to have guns, you're naive if you think otherwise

Which is exactly why I'm on the fence all the time.
It's the one thing I can't decide politically. Guns are always going to exist. Always.
Do you let others have guns to defend themselves or restrict them so that people can't be hurt by mistake as easily, or almost ban them and try and war against them being criminally owned? Obviously though banning them is the worst because that works never.
Surely having all these guns to 'protect themselves' makes the US such a safe place. How many times have we read stories about children getting killed either intentionally or unintentionally (kid finds gun, thinks it's a toy).

Guns aren't the problem in this case. Gang violence is. While I can kind of see where people come from with the "people can't do as much damage with a knife as they could with a gun" the fact is, gang members are going to kill each other regardless, and not having guns won't stop gang initiation rights where you have to kill someone.
Just a few weeks back a WW2 vet was killed in the street by two kids beating him up. This is the shit gangs do.
guns don't make the government fear the people, they just make everyone fear everyone
isn't that still tyranny?

i dunno. sorry.

Call me weird but I think the opposite. Apes dont use guns, they fight each other one on one.
