The 70-year-old knight included a picture (seen above) of him working closely with long-time Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell. In January, McCartney told German website Zeit Online that he was already working on video game music. “It’s a fascinating market,” McCartney said. “A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days. Young people will hear my music for the first time in a game.” McCartney’s first active involvement with video games was promoting The Beatles: Rock Band from Harmonix, MTV Games, and Electronic Arts in 2010. Bungie and McCartney have yet to announce what they are working on specifically, but it’s not Halo. After Halo: Reach, the studio has left the series behind with Microsoft. In May, a judge unsealed the contract between Bungie and its new publisher Activision due to ongoing litigation between that company and some members of Infinity Ward (the developer of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare games). The contract revealed a series of games code-named Destiny that will debut in the fall of 2013. Although, we’re hoping McCartney rerecords “Band on the Run” as “Man on the Run” for a new Marathon game.
Thought you guys would find this a tad interesting
McCartney is awesome, he's my main-inspiration when it comes to playing the bass. I actually have a Höfner Violin Bass excactly like his.
I saw this earlier. I don't think my body is ready for whatever god like things comes from this.
Paul McCartney formed the band wings, and throughout the series we haven't been able to fly the pelican. That means that halo 4 must have a Pelican level!
Where have you been for the past years, Bungie moved on to another franchise, 343 Industries is now the devs of Halo.
I'm aware of that. Was a crap post in the style of something like the gamespot forums.
I'm aware of that. Was a crap post in the style of something like the gamespot forums.
In that case I commend you.
They'd better have live and let die in one of their games.
“A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days. Young people will hear my music for the first time in a game.”
That a "young person" could somehow avoid hearing a McCartney song of any sort until presented it by a video game is depressing.
one of the songs got leaked.
What about Marty O' Donnell? Are they collaborating?
one of the songs got leaked.
oh god it's like audial ipecac.
one of the songs got leaked.
What I love most about this is he used some crusty old sequencer that frequently skips
don't listen to much music, don't know much about paul mccartney please tell me he can pull off the sweeping orchestral numbers we love halo for
What about Marty O' Donnell? Are they collaborating?
It seems so. The article states that there's a picture of the two working together.
don't listen to much music, don't know much about paul mccartney please tell me he can pull off the sweeping orchestral numbers we love halo for
uh sweeping orchestral numbers? why don't you google The Beatles for just a quick second?
What about Marty O' Donnell? Are they collaborating?
I hope so, that would be great
Paul McCartney formed the band wings, and throughout the series we haven't been able to fly the pelican. That means that halo 4 must have a Pelican level!
You could fly a Pelican and a Phantom in Halo: Reach, it was an easter egg
don't listen to much music, don't know much about paul mccartney please tell me he can pull off the sweeping orchestral numbers we love halo for
[del]Probably not. He can do some pretty great things with big bands, but a. it's nothing spectacular, and b. that "big" Halo sound came from Marty O'Donnel, who isn't working on Halo 4. Still, I think he'll pull it off well -- at least, as well as it can be done without Marty.[/del] Oh, shoot, just occurred to me that I'm an idiot. Paul McCartney is not working on Halo music. He's working with Bungie, who are no longer associated with Halo. Shame :(
uh sweeping orchestral numbers? why don't you google The Beatles for just a quick second?
um lol Paul McCartney has done a lot more than just be in the Beatles As far classical music goes...
uh sweeping orchestral numbers? why don't you google The Beatles for just a quick second?
either you missed my point entirely or there are some beatles songs that I have never heard [editline]7th July 2012[/editline]
Paul McCartney is not working on Halo music. He's working with Bungie, who are no longer associated with Halo.
I associate that huge orchestral style of music more with Bungie than Halo, same feel to the music was in Marathon and Oni also iirc O'Donnel is staying with Bungie
um lol Paul McCartney has done a lot more than just be in the Beatles
ehh i've mostly blocked out that out of my memory
You could fly a Pelican and a Phantom in Halo: Reach, it was an easter egg
It didn't have collision and it had Banshee/Falcon physics and hit-boxes.
Paul McCartney formed the band wings, and throughout the series we haven't been able to fly the pelican. That means that halo 4 must have a Pelican level!
Actually, in Halo Reach there was an easter egg to turn your falcon into a pelican (and phantom into a ghost). [editline]8th July 2012[/editline] should have read the posts above.
That a "young person" could somehow avoid hearing a McCartney song of any sort until presented it by a video game is depressing.
It's like how Symphony of the Devil was played in the credits for Black Ops. Some people only associate the Rolling Stones because of it. There's nothing wrong with it, as I've learned and listened to some new music from video games and other media alike. But when people (some I know at least) downright claim that such games created a licensed song, it's annoying.
Wow, some people are just to fucking ignorant to facts, and how things work in the music/gaming industry. Btw, my role in that is the voice of reason and logic
Those people are so utterly idiotic that it hurts
What a great man.
I can put both hands up in the air too :( [editline]9th July 2012[/editline]
As far classical music goes...
yeah those albums weren't very good. It's a publicity stunt and Mack didn't make music anywhere near as inspired as the others, except for his first 2 records.
Hahaha, I don't like McCartney's music but I still think he's a cool guy for doing this, those people are tards Not really any different from how Breaking Benjamin was on the Halo 2 soundtrack, Godsmack on PoP: Warrior Within and Trivium on God of War 3
one of the songs got leaked.
reminds me of mr oizo
